Simple stated, our absolute favorite bakery in Paris. Very friendly service and delicious bread. They speak good English to counter our terrible French.

I went there twice for take away pastries. The younger mixed female who waited on me and rang me up the first day was super patient and sweet despite the growing line behind me and my elementary French. The second day, she waited on me again and the older lady (brown hair with bangs, the rude one that everyone writes... More

Delicious but the atmosphere is not quiet as it should be. Prepare yourself to wait a lot since there is just one waitress that has to serve all the tables. The woman at the cash register should know at least the basics of English if she wants to work with the tourists. Overall, very rude staff!!

Whilst visiting in Paris a friend recommended that I have breakfast at Coquelicot. At face value it was a nice boutique eatery with the added addition of a bakery so it ticked all the right boxes. The staff seemed very nice and the ambience was just what you wanted on a Sunday morning. When we arrived it was busy and... More

Really cosy cafe with seating upstairs downstairs and outside. We went there for brunch. The food was very good, but the best thing about the cafe is the bakery that has fantastic bread and cakes.

Went here to have a very nice croissant, but shocked to witness the serving system as we stood in line to order two croissants to eat inside (which would take basically 30 seconds to hand us and recieve payment), we were told to sit and wait instead, and someone would come to take our order at the table. We sat... More

We ordered two croisaints and two coffees and waited for at least 30 minutes before we got it, but they tasted good.

My wife and I went to Coquelicot (French for Poppy) for our 25th wedding anniversary breakfast based solely on a quick Google search, and we weren't disappointed. Service was efficient and friendly, and the eggs we had were cooked perfectly. Very good bacon, too. It was so good that we travelled by Metro again later in the week. If the... More

We had one of our best meals at the Coquelicot! After walking in Montmatre, we went to this lovely Bistro and had a Quiche and a salmon sandwich, both very fresh and good. The staff do not speak perfect english, but enough to comunicate with you. It was also increadibly cheap! Ask for tap water, it is cold, good, and... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
