I am sorry for this review because I am sure it will not be helpful for most people. If you have see the show I'll Have What Phil's having then you know about Le Comptoir; that was my reasoning for wanting to go. I didn't...realize it was the #1 rated restaurant on Yelp in all of Paris. We went earlier than Parisienne dinner time but saw it was pretty crowded. Since I was with my 6 year old I walked up to the door and asked in my horrible French (lol) an extremely attractive gentleman how long the wait was. He shrugged his shoulders with a kind smile and said (In English) he wasn't sure but the line started over there (as he pointed). I thanked him and started to walk away. He stopped me and said the restaurant across the street was very good and there was no wait. I told him I would stand in line and wait for a bit and if it was too long I would go across the street. We waited in line maybe 15 minutes but I knew my poor son was getting hungry so we left the line and went across the street. The food across the street was really good, just as he said! I also noted there was a couple that stayed at a table at Le Comptoir the entire time we had our meal across the street and the line stayed full. I am sorry we didn't get the opportunity to eat here but I will make it a point the next time I visit Paris. All this was to say THE STAFF HERE IS GREAT! The gentleman didn't have to offer up another restaurant and could have just made us wait. I thought that was extremely sweet and I want to tell everyone to MAKE A RESERVATION and go to Le Comptoir!More

We were looking for a place to have dinner one evening and my wife found this place on Google. We noticed that the restaurant's website said that reservations were completely full but that they would do their best to accommodate walk-ins. We arrived around 7:30pm...and ended up having to wait in the queue, but were seated outside in about 15 minutes. It was a cool evening so they turned on the heat lamps which kept things comfortable. The onion soup was delicious! And it stayed hot for the entire time I was eating it. The escargot was pretty good although I found the sauce to be a little salty. The duck salad was tasty. The highlights of our meal were definitely the foie gras ravioli and the seared foie gras. Both were fantastic! Make sure your heart can handle the rich food!More

We decided to try this restaurant based on recommendation and the food didn’t disappoint. However, we didn’t call to make reservation and were told that we can only sit outside (its still winter so a bit cold). They provided blankets if needed and there was...a lamp fire near our table. The tables inside however were available even when we finished our meal and paying. I just wish we could be seated inside for the great food that we were enjoying.More

Had a great dinner, again, at this restaurant. Service is warm and professional, food is amazing, prices very reasonable and the ambiance is great. We enjoyed onion soup, escargot, foie gras carpaccio and the pork belly with a lovely carafe of house red wine. Everything...was perfect, love this restaurant!More

We ate at the restaurant and also bought quite a lot foei gras related products from the shop. Restaurant - foei gras is excellent, perfect thick slices and the ravioli, mac & cheese all superb; food is definitely top class. Service - our young waiter...was helpful but lacked English so got order wrong or misunderstood a few things...plus they ran out of plates... Shop - products are is in French but the shop assistants do not help or ask if you need assistance, you ask a question they answer politely & seemed more keen to serve french customers than tourists. Still friendly overall and we would come here again ...More

Like the most restaurants in Paris is a good idea to have your reservation before visiting just to be sure you 'll get a table. As for this restaurant is kind of small inside so I definitely suggested a reservation!
