They have a strong air conditioning which is not common in Europe. We went in looking for a place to have a coffee and hide from the 42oC sun and we had a pleasant surprise. The place is cute, typical Parisian with decor and architecture....However, it is eat, drink or get out! if you are not consuming they will bring the bill. OK! It works the same in North America. At least we could have our coffee, use the bathroom and cool from the heat a bit. They have outside patio and they are located right behind the Trocadero. I am sure would be lovely to spend more time. I saw delicious pastries at their kitchen windows.More

Carette is a traditional French restaurant with excellent desserts - you must try their macarons (my favorite is the rose favor).

We stopped in for a Sunday brunch and were delighted by the attentive staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Admittedly, we misunderstood that the portions on the menu were quite substantial and probably ordered far too much for a...party of three (the staff had to drag over two extra tables to accommodate all the extra dishes we had), but it made for a really lovely and complete experience. My companion described her scrambled eggs as incredibly hearty, while I really enjoyed the house onion soup. The Carette tea (the house blend) was excellent too for those who like their tea's bitter (which I do). I also really appreciated that we got unlimited hot water for our respective beverages which is such a little thing that I find many places skimp on. All in all, the food was great and we were treated exceptionally well. I will comment that the place is pretty pricey, but the portions are substantial so I'd recommend going in with a dish or two in mind, then expanding from there if you're truly hungry (as opposed to me opening with a soup to start, pate for the table, and a fruit dish for a main, etc...) .More

Carrette is a Parisian institution: some of the best croissants, pains au chocolat, desserts and coffee you can ever taste It is the place to see and be seen in the Trocadero area. You will see the rich and fashionable crowd of the XVI arrondissement

Nice place in a touristy spot. Had two cappuccinos and seven macaroons. They were quite delicious! The bill was €36.00

I had diarrhea after having lunch there, it’s very dirty, the forks and knives are not cleaned properly, you can see the food on it, I had to ask for change. I have friends living nearby, I went there last year, the restroom was filthy,...the toilet was full of fecal matters and paper that I couldn’t even walk in, I decided not to go to this place. But this time, my friend convinced me to go there again, we all had diarrhea after, just can’t believe this kind of place still exists in Paris city.More

Had breakfast at Carette on a Saturday morning. Nice place, good service, good food, very well located at Trocadero square, close to the Eiffel Tower, but extremely overpriced. I know that on places like this, located in tourists areas, you usually pay a premium, but...this place went a bit too far for items like orange juice. All in all a good place, but definitely for tourists.More

Fabulous cafe and pastry shop steps away from a great view and photo op of the Eiffel Tower. Stop by for hot chocolate and delicious pastry. Enjoy the energy in the room. Then walk a around the circle to the plaza and see the Eiffel...Tower.More

After a lot of walking, including walking up the Eiffel Tower, we were ready for a lunch. We stopped by Carette largely because it was close by. We sat outside at the front tables, which might have been a mistake just because the road there...is so busy. While we were pretty hungry, we didn't know how big the portions would be. We had onion soup, a couple sandwiches, salad, and some potato dish. It ended up being too much for all of us. Nonetheless, the food was good and the service was friendly. My only complaint was they had a lousy beer selection.More
