We were staying at the Hotel du Loiret and as usual when in Paris, our happy little group did way too much in the day. Tired and hungry, we opted for Mauvais Garçons- just next door. Like Goldilocks we were looking for just right and found it here. The small room - maybe 32 seats- was lively and animated. That... More

Our first experience at Les Mauvais Garcons was during our honeymoon in 1999. The food was amazing and the service was superb. We returned in 2005 and I returned in 2008 and were equally amazed at the food. We will be returning to Paris this November and plan on returning to the restaurant for another amazing meal.

Excellent and authentic cuisine from my homecity of Lyon ! "Tablier de sapeur", "cervelle de Canut" and of course "pot de Beaujolais", you'll find it all here, just next to City Hall in the heart of Paris. Service friendly and reasonable prices (menu 24 € & 28 €). Highly recommended !

Now I know that the French don't eat frogs legs and snails all the time, but we just wanted to try some. We found this restaurant and went for lunch. It was small and comfortable with a friendly atmosphere. We had an entree of snails and foie gras, and frogs legs for mains. It was worth trying. The food was... More

I had a dinner with my colleagues. It is a menu around 40 euros per person. I ordered cheese salad for starter, grill duck breast for main plat and apple pie for desert. You have only 1/4 camembert, 8 flakes of meat. The apple pie is not good at all, I can't finish it. The sauce in duck breast is... More

We stayed next door at the Hotel du Loiret. We were only in Paris for 3 nights and wished we had tried this restaurant the first night instead of the last night. The French Onion Soup was the best we had during our 9 days in France! The owner was so personable and takes a lot of pride in his... More

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
