This was the highlight of our trip to Paris. This restaurant is off the beaten path in a very non-touristy area. The owners are brothers, one is the chef the other manages the front of house. They were so warm and welcome to us Americans and sat with us and discussed the menu and the city and their history. It... More

So this place is great. Staff are friendly and English speaking, menu is in French but the accommodating staff and other guests are happy to help. It has a real family vibe and I loved it! So our meal went like this complimentary welcome drinks, sharing starters (one veggie one meats) 2 steaks, 1 Steak tartar and 1 scollops followed... More

Real family restaurant...a rare commodity in this cynical city of Paris. The atmosphere is welcoming, the owner personally makes you feel like you are in his home. He even insisted that I meet the chef in the kitchen. Meat quality is as superb as the service, the setting completely unpretentious. WINNER.

Impossible to put under 4 stars, as the dishes are delicious and cooked with ingredients of first quality and first freshness. The owner is always present and very very friendly and we have it on the plate for our money. On the other hand, if you arrive during the shot, you will wait too long your dish. The order was... I lived in Paris many years ago and visit every year. I'm an American of Greek heritage. Chez Trassoudaine combines fine French cuisine with the highest quality beef you'll find in Paris. (Try the Steak Orsini or the Coquilles St. Jacque.) All of this with the warmest Greek hospitality and a great music playlist (your host played with Jerry Garcia... More

Incredible atmosphere! Incredible staff! Incredible food! Everything about my visit to this beautiful family owned restaurant was perfect! We had a charcuterie board, and two perfectly cooked pieces of the most amazing quality of beef! The staff were all helpful and attentive, even though it was quite busy! They even gave us a few free drinks to welcome us to... More

My boyfriend and I were looking for a close by restaurant to have our last dinner in Paris. We found this little home-feeling place on the internet and we've been so very grateful for it! The meals were delicious and well-cooked, typically French but with interesting notes of Armenian cuisine. The size of each plate was more than satisfying and... More

Frankly, the food is not that great, but it's hard to remember that because the host is just a delightful, friendly, enthusiastic, charming guy. And the restaurant itself is quite delightful - the tables are generous, the linen, the paintings, the decor, the ambience are all excellent. Sadly, all this was let down by food that was a bit pedestrian... More

We went there on Friday evening for dinner. The place is incredible. Elegant, romantic, pictoresque and the owner is a such a character. I had the armenian starter which was tasty and chateaubriand with roquefort...one of most delicious thing I ever had. I strongly recommend to try this restaurant at least once. Unfortunately it's quite far from the city center... More

Staying in Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique

Neighborhood Profile
Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique
Far off the beaten path, this part of Paris is a forgotten gem worth exploring. Avenue d’Ivry houses Europe's largest Chinatown with great Asian supermarkets and shops, and a thrilling atmosphere around Chinese New Year. Place d’Italie impresses onlookers as soon as they set their eyes on it. Not far, around La Butte aux Cailles, the streets suddenly imitate provincial France and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported. The beauty of these streets lies in their surprises around every twist and turn.
