A restaurant serving very good food with an excellent atmosphere, the menu is slightly confusing until you realise that the daily special;s board is up above the door. Not the most obvious place, once you have solved this mystery you will have great value beautifully cooked food. A wide choice in this very french bistro, at lunchtime you will feel... More

Is extremely fresh ingredients in food that is quite simply unbelievable. The soups are delicate paper for deriving their taste not from powdered spaces but fresh vegetables picked at the perfection of ripeness. The fish dishes are cooked to perfection and served with a variety of side dishes and sauces that are delicate and tasty. Unlike most Paris restaurants the... More

Overall good, fresh, traditional French cuisine with very friendly and attentive service. Food was good, but not great. Busy restaurant in good location. We arrived for our 7:30 reservation 10 minutes late and were told they are very busy and they gave the table away. Server was extremely kind and sent us across the street to a small wine bar... The venue is not that big and quite often busy therefore I guess that booking in advance would be better. The menu is wode enough with traditional food. Also available on the menu a few combinations at a fixed price. Service is good

We had coffee and croissants here for breakfast. Stumbled upon it and loved the cosy atmosphere and very pleasant service.

Went for lunch here and it was nice, service a little slow to begin with, but once our order was taken the food was quick to arrive. We sat outside and watched the world go by at one of their street tables. Worth a visit if you watch to eat typical French food and the pate was great !!!

An amazing experience. We fell upon this lace having wandered around for somewhere with the right feel and a decent vegetarian menu. The restaurant starts things off with a very good ethos. All their food it prepared in their kitchen, and sourced from known sources & passionate suppliers. Each course of our 3 course, vegetarian meal was amazing. I didn't... More

I have been eating at Les Philosophes for a number of years. The menu is constant and has not changed over the years. We usually eat the suggestions for the day. This weeks offerings were again of the usual high standard and perfect for the season. The next door restaurant is La Chaise au Plafond and shares the menu and... More

A quintessential bistro, busy and bustling, very friendly service and some very good food. Between us we had onion soup, a mixed salad, a roquefort and walnut bagette, a ham sandwich and a pichet of Cahors and it was all quite excellent.

We hadn't been to this restaurant for possibly 20 years and last night we went. The onion soup was not really hot and very salty. Our waiter was very nice but he forgot my plat of the grilled lamb. My husband ordered the fillet which not only really a fillet and although cooked medium rare was very tough. We won't... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
