Rain, rain and more rain. We didn't want to stray any farther from our apartment than necessary and still have a good dinner. We remembered a recommendation of six years before and crossed the bridge to this wonderful restaurant in the shadow of prestigious La Tour D'Argent (which years ago we were told was the owner??). No reservation but we... More

My friend and I visited this delightful restaurant for our last evening in Paris. The Staff were extremely welcoming and our embarrassing lack of conversational French with the waiter's limited English at first led to difficulty, however the Manageress was marvelous with great recommendations of their fine cuisine. I enjoyed snails to start and my friend the house terrine. Both... More

After travelling for a week we wanted simplicity in our lunch ... and we found it, great fresh half chicken and french fries. Wonderful service in a great little restaurant near the river. They are all about the rotisserie here, chicken, duck and specials that are great. Wine list that is excellent and staff that is caring ... we left... More

We dined her for the second time on a second trip to Paris - I booked online weeks in advance and received numerous reminders on my mobile - right on quai de la tournelle, the views over the Seine are wonderful - attentive service, tables close together, intimate feeling, good food - my roast chicken came with a good serving... A rainy Sunday evening in Paris. We were with American guests--a sophisticated couple from Boston--in Paris wanting a fairly refined restaurant with a view. Where to go? I hadn't been to La Rotisserie in years. I remembered is as a good place for family lunches or a simple roast chicken with Beaujolais. On the Quai facing the flying buttresses of... More

This place hit the spot! We were yearning for a good meal of traditional roast chicken & pommes frites, but we were thrilled with the creamiest of mashed potatoes served here. Three of us ordered it, so the chicken was served in a lovely huge casserole dish. We also asked if we could have a green salad since it wasn't... More

Had a nice dinner here on an early evening in May. My husband and I both had the coq au vin, which is listed as a specialty. I found the dish a bit disappointing. I was expecting a rich, robust, glossy sauce, from bones, meat, and wine cooking for hours. What I received was a watery, thin sauce with few vegetables and... More

We were visiting Paris from Kansas. We had been in the Musee D'Orsay, and ran across a professor from our local university that was in the city for the summer. A friend for several years, we said, "Let's have dinner." He said, "Oh, the perfect place is La Rotisserie on quai de la Tournelle. He was right. There were 4... More

Recommend by our hotel this place buys good quality ingredients and has an excellent chef/s which combined with professional and friendly staff makes for a great eatery. A bit more top end than many bistros in the area this provided us with a great end to our trip. The fillet steak with pepper sauce and their special chips would take... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
