Liked the food and the ambience of this Michelin-starred restaurant in the middle of Fontainebleau. The prices are quite high, but are reasonable given the quality of food and service.

This was a splurge for us as it was very pricey. It was worth it. The speciality egg dish, my husband still dreams of it. From the stark white decor, to the staff, all is high quality. Beautiful and yummy. They do up sell a bit on the wines and champagnes, but hey. it was a splurge. The chef came... More

Friends from Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Denmark and New Zealand while at INSEAD at Fontainebleau decided to celebrate our companionship at this restaurant. Ambience was inviting as were staff. Each serving was timed eloquently to match the pace of our conversation and dining. The wine and non-alcoholic cocktails were recommended and matched well with the food. Thoroughly enjoyable evening among good... More

I was looking forward to this dinner but was unfortunately disappointed with the staff. The food is great, the selection of the menus is well balanced, taste great and very well presented. I enjoyed the food very much. The ambiance is good, not very memorable but otherwise good. The service was poor, the staff seemed to rather be anywhere than... More

Let's face it there are times that escape from Paris is not the title of a movie but a requisite in a swift flight from delightful consumerism. So here is the escape route, one hour's journey can give within your radius, Giverny, Versailles and the lovely Fontainebleau. For us it was a delightful overnight's getaway from the froggie capitol.. Flanked... More

We've been there without any of reservation.. And the receptionist was very polite and tried to speak English to us and she helped to check and finally we got a spot for 2 adults and 1 toddler. The server was very nice and polite eventhough he tried quite hard to speak English.. He explained to us about the menu.. Gave... More

L'Axel definitely deserves its Michelin Star; from the food, to the wine selection and the service (which is honestly hard to come by in France), everything was perfect. In true French Michelin experience, each dish was accompanied by a "pre" and "after", which only added to the experience. Make sure to plan 3 hours or more for your dinner!

Very nice diner at L'Axel in Fontainebleau ! It's great to have an a Michelin star restaurant in town ! Degustation menu from the Chef was nice. However, service is a little bit to ceremonial, and long. Bill is kind of expensive for 1 michelin start if you get one pairing. Good adres and I will be back. Thanks !
