We have just arrived back at our hotel following a wonderful evening spent at Au Jardin Gourmand. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and went out of their way to explain dishes and make recommendations. I had the €35 (2016) set menu with my husband choosing a la carte options. We both had the salmon starter, my... More

We visited this restaurant twice whilst in Troyes. On each occasion, we were warmly greeted and served. When we wanted help, it was tactfully given. Food was lovingly presented, and each course had just the right amount. Well worth a visit!

Our cousins who live in Troyes brought us for lunch to this restaurant that serves 5-A andouillettes (pork tripe sausage). Even if they had known the owner for decades, we were treated with discreet attention and knowledgeable wine suggestions. The cooked spring vegetables in a salad was refreshing. Our husbands had foie gras surprisingly matched with lemony poached eggs. Our... More

We dined here one night in December and were the first to arrive at about 7:30pm. From the start to the finish we had a great experience. The menu is all in French and we speak very little but the whole menu was explained to us by our waiter who spoke perfect English. We had 2 fish courses and a... More

Do book ahead for this popular restaurant. It is located in the heart of the old town, up a narrow (almost alley) street of half timbered buildings. The interior dining area is bright and very smart, with crisp linen and tasteful decoration that give an air of fine dining. The waiter and owner are both attentive, knowledgeable but not too... This is a very typical French restaurant with and attentive owner and an excellent waiter. It presents a traditional menu but majors on various andouillettes served in interesting ways. If you like these sausages, then these a served very well and it is an excellent opportunity to try a traditional French dish. The ambience in the restaurant is also great

Other reviewers have commented on the andouilettes predominating on the menu and they certainly offer a surprising range. However, if you don't like this speciality don't be put off. This is one of the few restaurants in France where you can still get a perfect typical meal. We started with a marvellous salmon dish and followed with the best blanquette... More

Although specialised in andouillettes, this small restaurant offers a good selection of alternatives. Excellent service from english speaking owner/staff. Rapid service although cooked to order from fresh. Outstandingly good cooking - absolutely delicious dishes. Good wine selection. Recommended.

Luckily we had booked into this small restaurant where the owner serves with one assistant. We were in no hurry but were served quickly enough. Another guest complained but was in a minority of one! Speciality is the Andouillette with 6 different permutations. They have probably the best supplier in France. People love or hate them. I'm in the former... More
