All reviews tasting menu turbot cheeseboard cheese tart fries michelin star cheese trolley one star fine dining without any fuss fantastic dinner special meal great wine glass of champagne set menu dish dessert
Food and service were good but not worth a star.
Starter was mediocre, main course was really good. Desserts definitely not worth a star.
Good note on wine list including a wide selection of wines as well as affordable and nice wines by glass.
Great experience if you want fantastic French food and have the time to enjoy a 3 hour meal.
Also very accommodating for special dietary restrictions, as one person in our group has several gluten allergy, i.e. coeliacs.
Would unreservedly eat here again.
Service is somewhat disappointing, as if the 1* Michelin holds more sway than customers actually paying to be there...
Otherwise, food is clearly top quality but lacking refinement for the expected standard. No finesse in the sauces and overpowering seasoning.
Took both an expensive menu...and the mid range menu. if anything, I would recommend the mid-range.
The desserts I have to say were excellent.
Conclusion: clearly a good restaurant and prices are in line with Michelin 1*, but service can be improved and an extra touch to the dishes. So not worth a detour in my mind but worth a visit if in the neighbourhood. However, in comparison to other 1*, no way near the quality...sorry to sayMore
Enjoyed a lovely evening in Le Foch. Pictures on the web look a little dour, inside the restaurant has a bright modern appearance. Friendly front of house staff welcomed us and gave excellent wine recommendations.
A starter of langoustines and crab was really outstanding, the...crisp feuille de bric around the langoustine proving a lovely edge. A main course of pigeon and girolles was perfectly cooked; classical French cooking, every element to perfection and with lovely saucing. (See pictures).
Lovely and generous cheeseboard, professionally explained, with all cheeses in outstanding condition.
Some aspects could be improved. Notably, the Desserts were simply not the quality of the main meal. The peach soup was quite medicinal, with rather tasteless fruit, and remained mainly unfinished at our table and others we saw.
Poor desserts were, however, rescued by excellent petit fours at the end.
This is not a “modern” restaurant designed to challenge your senses. It is classical French cookery - food you really want to eat - cooked very well.More
Al in all, this is a very nice restaurant. We started with a glass of champagne (we are in Reims after all) and enjoyed the amuses. Then we had a 5 course menu (72 euro) and all the dishes were good, especially the "fromage": we...could choice 5 different cheeses from the cheese cart. To finish the evening, we had an expresso (you can choice from a dozen kind of different coffee bean-types) and this goes along with some sweets.More
A couple of friends took us to this restaurant in Reims for dinner. We were impressed with the location, the facilities, the excellent service and of course, the fantastic food and champagne. Definitely, unsurpassable!
My wife and I had a fantastic dinner at this small restaurant in Reims during a short vacation there. Great food, friendly and classy service. Everything was done right. They offered various sets of tasting menus. For a tasting menu, we were surprised by the...big portions, and at the end we hardly had room for cheese and dessert. Highly recommended!More
A group of six of us had a dinner reservation here and frankly we came because of the one star Micheline rating. Given the price and the setting, we felt underwhelmed. While there was nothing wrong with the food, we were also not blown away...- again, it's all relative, but on the same trip we've also tried other one star restaurants in Strasbourg and Paris that were just more impressive for less money, both from a service (Paris) and a taste (Strasbourg) perspective. Lastly, the fact that our group couldn't speak any French beyond ordering water and simple vocabulary, made us feel that we were not really welcomed. While the wait staff were cordial, it certainly wasn't what one would call "friendly, warm" service.More
We try and have a meal at this restaurant on our way home when we spend the night in Reims.
On this occasion the set menu was ideal and each dish exciting and original. The first bottle of wine that we ordered did not come...up to scratch and was quickly changed without any fuss.
Superb service and a very charming setting.More
