People make a fuss about a good steak - but this one had everything going for it. We shared the special - Cote de Boeuf - a huge slab of rib steak, aged for 50 days, perfectly charred and blackened on the outside, soft and rare in the middle, with béarnaise on the side. It was really great. The starters... More

Seems like this is a very popular place, and very busy in the evening, so not a spot for a romantic meal. We tried to call the restaurant many times during the day to make a booking, and no one would pick up the phone. When we tried to walk in we were given a cold welcome, and told there... More

I had dinner with my husband at La Maison des Halles after read several good comments in Trip Advisor. We decided for Aspargus as starter waiting for something "gourmet", but they were fried and oily. For main course I ordered a Risotto with fish of the day, and it was regular. Risotto was not creamy and hot as it's supposed... More

Only had a couple of days in Tours but had this place recommended to us by a local. We were lucky to get a table as it got quite busy, but really glad we did. Service was friendly and the food was very good. Hard to call out any dish from any course as they were all of a good... More

A good spot to buy fruit and veggies. There's a wonderful boulagerie, patisserie, fromagerie, boucherie and everything you will need for a lovely picnic.

We had a fabulous côte de bœuf that was medium cooked to perfection. The starters of foie gras with mango and "oeuf parfait" were a beautiful beginning of the meal. Sadly we could not have dessert as the côte de bœuf was huge for two people. Great wines and fast service with lively atmosphere.

Probably the best food we had on this trip ,a bit more expensive but worth it. Got very busy and had a small wait which they apologised by giving us free pate while we waited ( not necessary but thoughtful ) Worth a visit

A nice restaurant serving the French specialities just near by the Halles. The food is fresh, good and quite inventive even with classics :) The service very efficient :p A pity the prices are a bit too high and the room a bit noisy... And dont forget to book! So crowded :)

This restaurant is located in the old town section of Tours and take reservations by phone only! The popular steakhouse packed with locals had a great ambience but it was actually too hot to eat that evening and was made worse by all the closely aligned tables. We skipped the appetizer and drank a liter bottle of sparkling mineral water... More

My family and I had a delightful experience at this restaurant. The staff were welcoming, informative and friendly despite our limited grasp of the French language (they offered an English menu which was a nice surprise). The local produce used was of the highest quality and provided us with a real taste of regional French cuisine along with sophisticated service... More
