I travel to Tours on a regular basis and always go to L'Atelier Gourmand because it has been consistently excellent. I went twice this trip. This time around I especially liked the Mille Feuille au Chocolat, the Gambas with Quinoa and the Parot Fish. They also served an interesting and delicious Caprese with a sprinkle of caviar. The food is... More

Been in France for six weeks and this is the best meal we have had. L'Atelier Gourmand is just off rue Grand Marche, the main restaurant thoroughfare in the old town. It really is worth going the extra 20 metres to find this restaurant. A friendly waiter created a table for three on a busy night although we didn't have... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant which is Situated very close to Place Plumerau and is really worth a visit. We were welcomed in English by the very friendly patron. We both had gravdlax to start, which was not served in thin slices, but in thick pieces, served with beetroot and goats cheese cannelloni. Unusual and very tasty. My husband's black Angus... More

My fiancé and I had dinner here last night after asking a local bartender for a suggestion for a great place to eat. David and Johann gave us amazing service. They helped me by both giving suggestions when I asked for them, and even spoke in English for me to better understand each item on the menu. The food was... More

For a contemporary take on French food this is a nice restaurant. The food was creative, yet not "out there". The scallops with root vegetables was beautiful to look at and equally good to eat. The sorbet with vodka and calvados was the knockout punch after a bottle of wine. Beware😋 The owner and staff were welcoming and friendly. Spoke... More

Found ourselves wandering near Place Plumereau, and decided to stop in for dinner. It was quiet when we arrived, but picked up as the evening went on. Ordered the 3-course menu, and the food was all very good, very fresh. Everyone at our table was happy. The ambiance was modern and so was their cuisine, but it was certainly authentic... More

The chef at this restaurant likes to do nouvelle takes on French and fusion cuisine. The results were dishes that we did not expect and flavors that we greatly enjoyed. I recommend that you try the prix fix meal to sample an appetizer, main dish and dessert. Ask the host to suggest a local wine that will complement the dishes... More

It was truly wonderful to go to a French restaurant that did serve authentic French cooking. My partner and I had almost given up finding such a place. Fortunately the manager at our hotel recommended this restaurant and we followed her advice. What a treat. It has won numerous awards and lived up to its reputation.

I've been to Tours on a number of occasions and I always go to this restaurant. This trip, I went twice with a group of eight. The little outdoor courtyard is quiet and comfortable being slightly off a main street. The coquille Saint-Jaques was memorable, as were the tiger prawns. Others in my group raved about the king pork and... More
