Although expensive to get to by taxi, and not cheap once you're there, this restaurant was memorable! We ate here our first night and it set a very high bar for the rest of the trip. The trading menu is substantial and your will be very full by the time you're done. Sitting in the garden on a beautiful night... More

Not just a meal; a total experience from start to finish. The environment, the setting, the staff, the service, even the crockery - but above all the food and wine. We enjoyed a multi course "menu of discovery" that I cannot do justice to in writing. Nor can I over state the standard of service, which was attentive but never... More

The service and food could not have been better, the best restaurant experience ever. Each course (7) was explained in detail by a knowledgeable and very professional waiter.

We visited 9 Michelin restaurants over 10 days in Paris and Loire valley and would rank this restaurant among the top 3 on our recent trip. We were suppose to make it for dinner but was delayed due to the recent floods and the highway closure A10 towards Tours and had to made up for a lunch fair the next... More

Reception, ambience, service, setting, quite amazing. Food is extraordinary and chef is 'old school' - he still comes through his premises to be sure that all his diners are happy. signature dishes were amazing. Take a look at the desert.

It all started well when we were greeted at the door by four waiters! Needless to say the service was excellent - discretely attentive with just the right balance of informality at times. The food was delicious with the steak saignant done perfectly. And we live in Australia so we know a bit about steak. Somehow it was equally red... More

We rated the restaurant as we were eating the house special soufflé. Sadly, the soufflé lacked the special sauce which brings the flavors and textures together as a pleasing delight which is how also how we described the restaurant. The other courses were pretty good, setting lovely, but service perfunctory. Curiously , instead of a gracious host, there was a... More

We had an appointment in Tours in the morning, so we also booked lunch at the Roche le Roy, as it's a restaurant we have been wanting to visit for a while. We both chose the Menu Favori accompanied by a half bottle of Pouilly Fume, and we were not disappointed. Superb food, accompanied by excellent service. Highly recommended. We... More

The break for lunch at La Roche le Roy was a magnific culinary experience in Touraine. We choosed the "surprise menu" according to the waiter advice. The only thing we knew from the beginning was the Rose wine from Chinon, an excellent one... I shall not give details on the five dishes plus two kinds of desert... I prefere to... More
