We visited Tours as a family, searching for authentic French food which would also cater for my 10 year old daughter, who has Coeliac disease. The previous evening we had eaten at a very average brasserie which was clearly a tourist trap in the centre of Tours, where we literally had the bill thrown at us at the end of... More

Really enjoyed our dinner here. Great regional food. Eggs poached in red wine topped with Pate de Foie Gras. Don't hesitate, just try it. Fish and pork were both great too. We went twice so also tried Canneloni filled with crab, mango and nuts. Very pleasant young man seemed to be running the place and doing a great job of... More

On a hot, summer night we were pleasantly surprised with a refreshing salad, terrific wine and a quaint atmosphere. Definitely a restaurant to visit and pass an agreeable evening with friends.

Le Turon is a quiet, small restaurant fairly near the cathedral. The service was excellent and the food was out of this world. I had foi gras, 7 hour cooked lamb, and chocolate cake with liquid filling. Everything was superb but the star of the show was the lamb. It was soft top the point that it dissolved but retained... We have used this family run restaurant on several occasions both whilst staying in Tours as a base for touring the Loire region and whilst stopping over on our way south. The menu is varied and very good with both regional and 'international' dishes. Service is very friendly and efficient. The restaurant is often full especially from Thursday evening onward.... More

This is a great restaurant with wonderful food and good service. I had a beautiful piece of lamb and my husband had the most beautiful cassoulet of seafood. He said it was amazing. This was followed by a selection of delicate cheeses. It is really worth a visit.

We just had one night in Tours and found this spot while walking around reading menus. Service was very professional, the menu offered some very interesting choices and the food was wonderful. I ordered fish meuniere as I recall and my husband had a steak. I remember being delighted with the presentation of the food and the quality. The fish... More

We went here whilst staying in Tours. Great location on Rue Colbert. The restaurant was really nice inside and had a nice atmosphere. I thought it was really good value, three courses for 23 euro. I ate at so many places so I hope I am remembering correctly but I think I had goats cheese Parma ham and melon starter,... More

We literally took pot luck finding this restaurant in Rue Colbert, with so many to choose from. The service was excellent, the staff very knowledgable and helpful, with excellent wine knowledge and good recommendations. The food was outstanding. Each of the four of us was impressed with the quality, presentation and taste of the dishes. The chef graced us with... More

We visited Le Turon on our last night in Tours and it made a perfect bookend to our earlier visit to the very different, but equally excellent, Au Lapin Qui Fume. While the latter provides excellent, hearty bistro fare, Le Turon tends more towards the Nouvelle Cuisine style, with small portions of delicately cooked food, supplemented with alchemical wisps of...
