We have been coming here for 10 years and unfortunately I think the Bistrot has become a victim of its own success...The food is still good and reasonably priced, but the service was so jaded I really felt I was bothering them. The restaurant was not up to scratch in terms of cleanliness, even though we reserved the 1st service... More

The food is delicious and price is reasonable. Only comment is that the staff needs to improve on the service. It took 3 waiters to finally get our drinks order right. But they were very friendly and tried their best.

Enjoyed our evening meal at this vaunted Tours bistro. Petit frère to Restaurant Charles Barrier next door, the Bistrot's more limited menu was nonetheless more than adequate, and the food very good. I must echo another reviewer who felt that tablecloths for the tired wooden tabletops would be a welcome addition. Waiter attentiveness was B+, but our evening delightful. 👍

The older I get, the less I understand the world. Why would a Michelin-starred chef allow his brasserie next door to serve lunch on tables so cracked and fissured that they are impossible to clean? The food was top notch, the service very professional and the value - €16.50 for a 3-course lunch - quite outstanding. Yet once I had... More

Recently on a business trip to France I had the pleasure of inviting 6 of my colleagues and customers for dinner. Everyone had a good meal, top notch at a relatively reasonable price which included 2 bottles of wine for the 7 of us. The ``terrine de foie gras`` was ohhh sooooo good ! Desert as well, and I can’t... More

Gone are the days when you can eat well in most restaurants in France and many bistros don't live up to expectations- but this one does! The bistro sits next to it's big brother - the gastronomic restaurant of Barrier in a rather remote part of Tours, north of the Loire but if you decide to make the trip and... More

The local is not so nice, but the served food is good and with a good variety of the offer. Also the proposed beers are good and the service is in the average

Very good local foods with reasonable price. Menu is relatively small but very tasty. Cozy interior. Communication in English was a challenge.

Le Bistrot was full with locals having a New Year's Day lunch. The staff provided a friendly and attentive service throughout our meal. We chose from one of the two menu options: each features two starters, two mains and a choice from the dessert menu and one can mix and match from the two menus. As with the adjoining Charles... We brought of group here and they prepared a separate dining room for us which was nice. We had the room to ourselves and were seated at one big table which was also great for our group. Everything from amuse bouche to appetizer to entree to dessert and wine were perfect! We enjoyed everything so much we changed our plans... More
