A nice surprise in Tours

We went there to meet friends who know the owner. It was a really good meal. The food is fresh, nicely cooked and the fish delicious! The owner and his crew are really welcoming. We will definetly come back without our friends and recommand it to eveyone.

On the recommendation of our tour guide today, we found ourselves at Au Martin Bleu for dinner. We were not disappointed! We are coming to the end of a 2 week vacation in France (Paris, Nice, Dijon and Tours), and this was by far the best dinner we have had the entire trip. Tremendously fresh seafood and unique preparations and... More

This is principally a fish restaurant, although my wife's steak was cooked to perfection. We were the only English speakers there-often a good sign. The dishes are well thought out and packed with flavour. There is a Euro 29 menu for 3 courses and our meals (we went twice) averaged just under Euro 90 with a decent bottle of local Chinon wine.... We ate at this restaurant while on our France tour. Since we saw the trip advisor sticker on the window we were comfortable to try it out. The restaurant was small and quaint,. The staff was very helpful in guiding us to choose our selection since the menu was only in French. The food is incredible, very fresh,, and the... More

Four different local sources gave us this really good seafood restaurant near the beautiful Gare de Tours. Great menus chocked full of fresh seafood and BIG portions of delicious food. The vine list featured the best names of Loire at reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Au Martin Bleu has no atmosphere to talk about, sits on a street behind the beautiful railway station, has the future tram lines coming up in front of it.....in other words, it has nothing going for it but the EXCELLENT FOOD and its passionate chef! We ate there yesterday. Saturday lunch menu 19.50 entree, plat and dessert. The fish soup... More

Situated just behind the stunningly beautiful train station in the centre of Tours, this outstanding local restaurant is a real find. The food is local, mainly fish from the Loire, but also other local dishes which have often long been forgotten. The cooking is without additives, using only the finest ingredients especially butter and cream. It is not slimming! My... More
