Good restaurant although a little pricey for the level of food served. Service was good as was the food but I would not choose from the 32 euro menu again.

Found the L'Ardoise via recommendations from fellow travelers and confirmation via our hotel. It's a small and charming French restaurant with pleasant decor and a friendly ambiance. Seems to be a favorite of locals. Had the 5 course degustation menu & we were very pleased with the taste, originality and diversity of offerings. Very avant garde in preparation. You'll enjoy.... nice restaurant with nice food; in summer you can also sit outside. Staff could be more friendly, bit of a distance.

We decided to check out this nice looking restaurant after a hard day chateau hopping through the Loire Valley. I wish we'd gone to McDonalds. My husband and I each had a 3 course meal - and each of the 6 dishes was consistent in that they were beautifully presented and simply horrible to taste. The sauces were vinegary, the... More

Traditional french cuisine with an experimental touch - what else would you want in France ? Give the Ardoise a try. You might not be overwhelmed, but happily satisfied with giving this small restaurant and its cook a chance to show you their talent.

We were recommended this restaurant and were full of expectations, which were soon dashed. The amuse bouche was a glass egg cup full of warm pork and apple gravy, very greasy and unpleasant. The starter was pieces of langoustine and cauliflower set in a sweet orange flavoured aspic. My main course was listed as Ail de Raie, but instead of... More

Our hotel in Orleans recommended this restaurant as it was near and we were tired. A surly waitress made us a little uncomfortable and her attitude didn't improve, even though her boss was pleasant enough. Our main disappointment was the nasty bitter taste under the mousse of the amuse bouche and then the same bitter tincture lurking in a messy,... More

We wanted to choose an excellent restaurant for our 1st anniversary dinner in Orléans, my husband's hometown, or nearby towns. So a friend of his, who trained as a chef, highly recommended this place, and told him he has never been let-downed every time he went. The place was unpretentious, and nicely presented with no over-the-top decors. Waitress was absolutely... More

We had this place recommended by our Hotel. Very cosy place. The waiter helped us with the translation of the menue since our french is not so good. Food was fantastic and the price more than reasonable. On top we received two glasses of wine on the house. If they six stars at trip advisor, we would give them. A... More
