Beware! As a veggie I do struggle to find reasonable food in France but Happy Cow and Trip Advisor suggested this restaurant so we went. There is a menu which says it is veggie but only if you eat fish and gelatine! So not really veggie. The house red we got was not the same as the house red for... More

It's a fact that we have one of our starter with fish in our vegetarian menu. Because we have a lot of people that are "piscivegetarian". But it's quite easy to avoid it for it's written "rillettes de sandre" and anybobody know that pikeperch is not really a vegetable ! I've about 50 or more red wines so we serve... More

There are no shortages of restaurants in town but this is one of the better ones. It is family run and gets very busy, Good traditional French food, well cooked and presented. You are advised to book before you get there as we saw many people turned away.

While this is not a purely vegetarian restaurant, it does provide several vegetarian menus. We had an enjoyable and delicious meal. Don't expect any haute cuisine here, though. That is not the intention. Typically, people seem to be in and out within an hour. This means that is people cannot get a table, they have a good chance of getting... More

We dined here in May. There is a room with very nice ambience in the front of the restaurant, and a small, poorly ventilated one in the back. While we made reservations three months in advance, we were seated in a rather unpleasant location in the back. If you go here, do request to sit in the front when you... More

We are actually sorry for it was impossible to give you a table in your main room. We put a reservation for you in this room for you reserved for a lot of weeks but unfortunatly people entered in the restaurant while we were busy, sat on "your" table and the waiter dare not to move them. We apologize and... More

We really wanted to like this restaurant, warm, good reception, nice decor, delightful staff. Unfortunately on this occasion, as was explained to us, the available vegetables were limited to butternut squash mash and saute potatoes. Also my first choice of wine was unavailable. That said, the poached eggs in red wine sauce and my pork rillettes starters were fine, as... More

This was my best meal during my last visit to Blois and maybe also one the best, they have quite good choices in their menu and their service is very good. I enjoyed a very good veal stew prepared with old style vegetables and the wine suggestion was quite good as well, definitively a place to come back during my... More

Le Castelet is a wonderful classic French restaurant in Blois. We were lucky to find it. The Boeuf Bourgignon was the best I've ever tasted. Everything was extremely fresh and the serving temperature was perfect. A perfect wine to pair with our dishes was suggested by the manager. This was the best dinner we had in Blois.

We stumbled upon this lovely restaurant in our visit to Blois. It was late and seem like all the nearby restaurants were closed. We did not know what we were getting ourselves into, but boy were we in for a treat! The menus were in French only, but the owner speaks English. We had one of the best escargots we... More

They say that good word of mouth publicity is worth more than any other form of advertising and Le Castelet certainly gets good word of mouth. Our hotel recommended the restaurant as a good example of the local food, friendly and not too expensive. Well it was everything they said plus, plus, plus. The food is an exquisite example of... Here with family including fussy veggie daughter. All good for meat and fish eaters. We came because there was a veggie menu: it was a bit disappointing: included omelette but thank God not veggie lasagne. Everyone else happy. Tad expensive for my liking €100 for 4 without any drinks.
