Best meal during last visit to Blois

This was my best meal during my last visit to Blois and maybe also one the best, they have quite good choices in their menu and their service is very good. I enjoyed a very good veal stew prepared with old style vegetables and the wine suggestion was quite good as well, definitively a place to come... read more

Le Castelet is a wonderful classic French restaurant in Blois. We were lucky to find it. The Boeuf Bourgignon was the best I've ever tasted. Everything was extremely fresh and the serving temperature was perfect. A perfect wine to pair with our dishes was suggested by the manager. This was the best dinner we had in Blois.

We stumbled upon this lovely restaurant in our visit to Blois. It was late and seem like all the nearby restaurants were closed. We did not know what we were getting ourselves into, but boy were we in for a treat! The menus were in French only, but the owner speaks English. We had one of the best escargots we... More

They say that good word of mouth publicity is worth more than any other form of advertising and Le Castelet certainly gets good word of mouth. Our hotel recommended the restaurant as a good example of the local food, friendly and not too expensive. Well it was everything they said plus, plus, plus. The food is an exquisite example of... Here with family including fussy veggie daughter. All good for meat and fish eaters. We came because there was a veggie menu: it was a bit disappointing: included omelette but thank God not veggie lasagne. Everyone else happy. Tad expensive for my liking €100 for 4 without any drinks.

This restaurant came as a recommendation from the hotel. And I hva to say rightfully so. Got a voucher even for a free kir - which is some sort of prune liquor. Very delicious. The food was absolutely marvellous and well presented. This is a family run restaurant which is also very popular with the locals. Be sure to arrive... More

It was 2008 and I just looked this place up again, things may have changed. But 4 of my best friends all agree, that this food was no exaggeration the best thing we had ever eaten, and I have eaten a lot of fine meals before and since. I dream of going back again, and I can still taste the... More

This is a little gem of a restaurant. We stumbled across it on a recent trip to Blois and decided to pop in for lunch. The vast majority of customers were local (always a good sign) but our host nevertheless spoke English and Italian and made us tourists welcome. The menu was also available in English for those without French... More

We walked in off the street after the Saturday market were served promptly and efficiently. The food was very good and well prepared. It was an AFD so didn't have wine but it looked a good list. Would like to go back! Highly recommended.

24 hours after we ate there, my daughter is still sick! We know it was the 'goat' meat becasue as she was eating it we noticed how they left the stamp of the skin and it tasted AWFUL. But my daughter feeling obligated kept eating it a bit even though it tasted funny. She has been throwing up for two... More
