Very slow service.... 2h for one starter and two mains. My partner ordered Andouillette we worked out it was pig intestines. Bad decision. I had a crepe which was ok. Bottle of Heineken was nearly 5euros for 250ml. Told the waiter at the till that the service had been slow and was told "it s slow for everyone".

We arrived just as they opened, and we were the first guests seated. They had a menu outside that had moules and frites as an offering. When our order was taken, I asked what the soup was. Sorry, no soup. Ok, I asked if the moules and frites were still available. Yes. Great. And a glass of the merlot. Sorry,... More

The line of eateries just outside the chateau entrance can be very busy and hardly relaxing. However if you just walk another 50 metres along side the castle walls you will come to L'Amboiserie which makes an ideal lunch venue. The large partly-covered first floor terrace is ideal in good weather. We have enjoyed excellent salads and crepes here. There... More

My wife and I had a very good lunch here today. We enjoyed Magret d'Canard and Gambas, while my wife had delicious rice pudding for desert. We got into a conversation with the couple sitting next to us and it turned out their daughter was the cook there.

This restaurant has a lovely courtyard at the back of the restaurant which gets a nice breeze. This is excellent when it is very hot. They offer a plat du jour. Today I had a tuna salad, margret de canard and three different kinds of sorbet. It was very nice. This only cost 13.90 Euros.

Visited as a large group when the brass band festival was on in Amboise. They'd done a mass order because there was so many of us in the group, but food & drink was very good & service very efficient.

The exterior sign advertises crepes, and I let my imagination run riot thinking back to the great crepes in Brittany. Average to dull selection, Hamburger served with a crepe? Tapa plate served with no items listed. I am an experienced traveler that welcomes odd, but just so happy they could direct us to our hotel!!!

Me and my family came the for a lunch. Service ok, crepes ok but the entrecote steak was sub-standard.

Great location below the city walls Table d'hôte menu and wine list amazingly good value. Saumon tartare and tarte tartine particularly good Staff keen to impress and willing to entertain pathetic attempts at ordering in French and then gently and sympathetically correcting errors with a smile of encouragement.

We can't fault this restaurant, we took pot luck but it turned out great. We had a lovely waitress and the place got busier as the night began. We took a fixed menu option and our duck and steak were cooked to perfection.

Thank Marc K
