We actually ate here both nights while in Amboise. Good local wine and food. Service was great and really enjoyed the cheese choices.

We ate here based on Rick Steves' recommendation. He came through again. The food was delicious and well-presented. The service was attentive and friendly. I would return.

Wonderful friendly accomodating service and great food in the more traditional french style. The snails in garlic butter were great as was the pate fait definitely fait maison. The veal was nice and the porc excellent both with lovely sauces which were perfectly matched. Finally the cheese board was a choice of four cheeses from a really good selection of... More

We were on a tight schedule and the kitchen happily obliged our 45min limit. The 3 course formulae with coffee did not disappoint! Starters of the day were a beautiful seafood soup and the best quiche Lorraine I've ever eaten! Mains were a large red meat affair with a veal stew and smokey steak and chips in an onion gravy.... Small, quaint restaurant-you'll want to make a reservation. Definitely order the cheese! We sampled the whole menu between our party and loved everything!

Eating dinner in a small French town on a Sunday night in winter is not always easy–there are many establishments which are closed. We called L'Epicerie and made a reservation for an early dinner (7:30 pm). When we got there we were the only two in the restaurant. The two ladies who greeted us were very helpful, courteous and attentive.... More

Soon time to scoot off for some lunch ,so much climbing all over castles and palaces gave me an appetite , down in the town I peeped into the windows of the first restaurant I came to L'Epecerie (after checking the menu ), finding it full of townsfolk having Saturday lunch is always a good sign . Delicious smells on... More

Our hotel recommended a lovely bistro, well-regarded for its upscale local cuisine. It was the last night of our trip (before an airport hotel) but we had been eating so much gourmet food, that we wanted a more simple meal. The food here was very good local-style, the ambiance was pleasant and the service was competent. An enjoyable stop if... More

We enjoyed this restaurant so much we went back again. They have a fixed price menu which includes 4 courses that is both reasonable and excellent. There are several items offered each night. The locally sourced cheese course offers a wide selection from which you choose. Everyone was very attentive and friendly.
