Our B&B recommended this place for typical Burgundian food. We tried the soft-boiled eggs in red wine, beef bourguignon and the assorted cheeses for desert. Food was delicious; service was friendly.

This restaurant was open on Easter Sunday when most were shut. We tried the 29 Euro menu and certainly had enough to eat. The dishes came out with regimental precision and looked fine. Perhaps the flavours were too subtle for our palates - there was nothing to dislike, but at the same time nothing to get excited about. The escargot... More

On the road to the Champagne region, we stopped at Dijon and looked for a restaurant serving freshly cooked local food. On Sunday, that was not an easy task... and we felt quite lucky to discover L'Escargot. After a glass of Champagne (to prepare ourselves to the forthcoming days), we enjoyed very much snails, veal kidneys prepared with Dijon's mustard... More

This small family restaurant serves up probably the best that Burgundy offers at a very reasonable price. The snails followed by veal kidneys washed down by an outstanding Geverey made this writer very happy indeed. Not my first visit or review over the years of L'Escargot - I love this place !

We drove in from Tours that day and arrived later than hoped with no dinner reservations on a Friday night and staying in the heart of the tourist area. Turned away at a number of places and walked by L'Escargot and they had a table for us. I need to say that they were very friendly even though it was... More

L’Escargot was one of the restaurants recommended by our hotel. While our dinner was not unpleasant, it was not outstanding in any way. The escargot was good as was the beef burgundy. However, portions were smallish and the server was haughty. We had better dinners elsewhere in Dijon.

The service was excellent throughout esp from Melina who was running the show that night . She even drew us a map to find Maille moutarde shop in Dijon . Avec Tendresse her note... More

Although the air conditioning wasn't quite cool enough, the food and the service were excellent. We particularly wanted local dishes, and that's what we got (I had a chicken with mustard in a cheese sauce that was superb). The local wine was nice, too.

Don't be turned off by the mixed reviews (many from 2012 complaining about the staff). When we couldn't get a reservation at Le Bouchon du Palais, the hotel reception suggested L'escargot. It turned out to be the best food on our 2 week trip (including Bouchon du Palais where we ate the following evening. At 61 Euros for 2 three... More

We spent a sunny, enjoyable few days in Dijon last week. We liked this lovely Bourgogne restaurant so much that we ate there on two occasions (evening meals from the 3 course menu). Great value. The food was lovingly prepared and served politely. Great wine list, sold by bottle or carafe. Gilles and Carmen were great hosts and they took... More
