DZ'Envies purports to be a cut above the other restaurants in the Les Halle's area in Dijon. Perhaps in style, presentation, and price it is, but we found the food to be ordinary and the service to be indifferent and inattentive. Perhaps it as because it was a holiday night and they were busy or perhaps do not have for... More

Now well established & popular restaurant. Booking essential. Excellent food & good wine list. Very Burgundian

Tried food gras for the first time, as when in Rome...didn't expect to like it. It was amazing. Served with a small pile I'd greens, apple compote, and tiny droplets of sweet syrup in a carefully presented arrangement, first a feast for the eyes. Out somm. suggested a lovely rich pinot that paired beautifully. Steak was perfectly cooked and presented... More

We dined here this evening and enjoyed a very nicely planned dinner in a quiet but sleekly modern dining spot across from the Les Halles Market area. Service was so efficient, orders taken quickly, servers very accommodating with our fractured but earnest attempts in French. A choice of 3,4 or 5 set dinners or a la carte from the menu.... More

Recommended by hotel. Wonderful, flavorful and unique. The prix fixe was excellent choice but of the 4 meals the chicken in cream sauce was the best. A much different menu than expected.

Bistro next to the market. Very fresh, locally sourced, interesting food, great service. Highly recommended but reservation is probably wiser than taking your chances.

At the hurt of Dijon next to the market is this chef's restaurant. The food is fresh and presented as in highly priced chef's restaurant but at surprisingly good price. It's a busy place, so make sure to make reservations.

During my first trip though #Europe I've decided to stop in Dijon. After long walk eventually I've found a place with traditional #French food only to discover that I will not be served if I only want to order main meal and a drink. Probably you need to order 3 course meal to be served in that place. Unfortunately this... More

Far to many tables which gives the cafeteria impression. Lots of noise, chairs scraping , waiters rushing everywhere with plates. Wines by the glass limited to 2 local whites and 2 reds, E 4.50 to E6. Menu de jour E14 ok but dressing on the salad seemed to overpower the dish. Little tiny prawns also not appealing to the eye covered... More

You can either choose from an a la carte menu of traditional burgundy dishes, which are all done well, but are not what distinguish this restaurant; or have the menu of 3, 4, or 5 'envies' or courses. These are delicate and adventurous dishes, with little Burgundian about them except for the excellent ingredients. For example, a hot gambas is... More
