Interesting restaurant, recommended by Dominique from Hotel Quic en Groigne, two streets down, and owned by Eliane and Philippe Poignand, he in the kitchen, she at the front, with that night a young man to help with the ten tables. We arrived late in Saint Malo and our B&B host managed to get us a reservation here. We were exhausted from a very long drive and were not expecting to generate much enthusiasm for a dinner. But the staff here rose to the occasion and provided us with a wonderful meal and experience. I had some of the freshest oysters... More

You can chose from different Menues. Everything is gr8t. Gentleman, Wine is fine, but the local Beer here is a good one. Gr8t Value for Money. Lovely Service can translate the french card in English. My starter favorite are Oysters with the Vinegrage.

A trip to St Malo is not complete without a visit to Gilles. The food is second to none. It is a small restaurant with one waitress, she is calm, charming and amazingly efficient, the food is SUPERB, from tha amuse bouche through to the dessert. The flavours are wonderful and the presentation is mouthwatering. This restaurant is Michelin recommended... More

We were shocked that there were not more diners here, because the entire experience was fabulous, from the muted gray satiny decor, to the Mozart Piano Concertos playing quietly overhead. The menu is simple, and you choose from combinations that can include starters, main course and dessert. First an amuse bouche of inventive carrot and orange whipped with a spicy... More

Modern, clean, dining room matches the modern, creative menu from the chef, while the service is classic, unobtrusive, yet warm and efficient. We suspect that this is one of the best choices in St Malo if you want to step up a notch from fast eating and tourist crowds. The flavor balance of the fish dishes in particular was finely... More

Althoug the decoration of the place is not special, the food was simply wonderful. Not only the beautiful presentation of the dishes but mainly the taste is something not to forget. It is not a cheap restaurant but it is worthy each euro. I went there twice in 4 days and I had to control myself not to go there... More

It was a Sunday and our last night in Saint-Malo. It had been a lovely sunny day but when the sun went down it was a cold and windy April evening. The first two restaurants we had previously earmarked as possibilities for dining were closed on a Sunday night. My partner was all for going to the nearest open restaurant... More

This small, quiet restaurant tucked away in the walled city of St. Malo served us a beautifully prepared and seasoned meal. The service was superb, never fussy but always timely. The Noix St Jaques were the best my wife has ever eaten; my duck was cooked perfectly. Each course arrived well presented. If you have only one night to eat... More

Set up a small side street, off the tourist route, felt we were eating in the real France. The decor is simple and understated, black & white photographs enhance the walls. Excellent, varied menu, extremely good value for money. Service was very efficient, a charming waitress with a lovely sense of humour. We will definitely return when we are next... More
