One of our favorite restaurants of our month in France. It’s in a picturesque old shop on the Rue Nantaise, near the Place des Lices. We loved the starters, oeufs surprises (a soft-boiled egg with ham and morel mushrooms) and grilled gambas; and a main course of half a pigeon roasted with a balsamic sauce. For dessert we loved the... More

Had a gut feeling about this one when we passed it a day earlier and happily, it didn't disappoint. Walked in off the street for lunch with no reservation and we're lucky enough to get a table as it was already very busy at 12. Had the pork house terrine and rabbit terrine which were both very tasty with nice,... More

Service was great, they managed to squeeze us in between other bookings at the last minute. This restaurant is popular so consider booking if you can. Food was all excellently cooked and served in a professional manner with the minimum of fuss. Great wines. A good place if you are looking for a quality dining experience in Rennes. We will... More

We had four courses here for dinner, and every one was spectacular or very close. The room is charming and the atmosphere is perfect. It was a very special evening . . . except for the strangely inattentive service. Our plates were not cleared at all quickly, our jug of table water was never refilled, and (in spite of the... More

Excellent quality of produce and excellent cooking, lots of taste and flavor! Every single dish served to us was excellent, whether it was meat or fish. Desserts were also very good. The wine (organic) on special that night... More

Cafe Breton was almost empty when we walked in early on a Wednesday night. Not a good sign, we thought. We needn't have worried. Half an hour later we wouldn't have got a table. The place seemed to be run by two or three people, yet the service was efficient and friendly. Simple, genuinely French food at affordable prices. Like... More

In fact I took two colleagues with me... One of them was pregnant so had to steer away from certain things - but had a fantastic risotto. I opted for the slate of foie gras, steak tartare and other wee delights. Before tucking into a wonderful fish dish. My other colleague had a lovely Breton dish that I forget the... More

We had a great dinner here - both lamb and fish were very good as well as the entrees and dessert. We liked the ambience of this cozy place and the service - we initially had to sit outside but when a table became available we were offered the opportunity to sit inside. I'll denudi tele recommend this place.

We had such a great spread of food - from Fois Gras to langoustine, to atlantic fish I had never heard of...again great wine (as is to be expected). Wonderful decor, slightly cramped but well worth seeking this place out. And eating well for a good price. I will be stopping off here on my trip to France with my... More

The choice of starters for two was delicious, but my main course was hardly edible. It was completely undercooked. I hardly got an apology and of course it appeared on the bill. We will definitely not return.
