In this unprepossessing part of town we had a nice, low-key dinner. The restaurant seems to be frequented by locals rather than tourists. It's mainly a seafood restaurant with a somewhat limited menu.

Had a meal here based on a recommendation. It was a great find, down a small backstreet. This is a down to earth, traditional French street front brazerrie style place, with simple well cooked food, friendly and humorous staff who obviously enjoy their time there, and a wonderful atmosphere. Definitely recommended for a simple, good meal.

Although Saint Jean de Luz attracts a lot of tourists, this restaurant feels like a neighborhood staple. Two cozy rooms, amiable service, and good food.

Tucked away down a side street you'll find this popular restaurant. We had not reserved a table and grabbed one of the last left. The friendly service was fine, a little slow to start although they were busy. The meals are set out as a choice of dish, adding either salad, chips or rice making the meal quite basic but... More

Love it. Generous, authentic and delicious. Looks like nothing but the minute you walk in you can feel the atmosphere that keeps everyone coming back. If you are looking for fancy, go elsewhere.

We went to Chez Pablo based on other Tripadvisor reviews and we weren't disappointed. Tucked away down a small side street away from the tourist hot spots, it is exactly the kind of local restaurant we love to eat at on holiday. We got there just after the opening time of 7.30pm and managed to get one of the last... More

Chips or salad...not chips AND salad... 2 stars First the good points. The place itself is quite charming with its red checkered table cloths (plastic) and matching cloth napkins. The dining room is mostly made up of large tables with benches to sit on and you are seated where there is space. This means there is a chance of bumping... More

We haven't eaten out much during our week in St J de L, so wanted to make sure that our last night's meal was a good one. We are staying by the market and were blown away by the reviews for the very local Chez Pablo. We were not disappointed. WE got there earlyish - and it was already buzzing... More

I aksed the local cheese shop owner for a lunch suggestion- might not have found this place otherwise. The food is simple but restaurant was filled with locals. Owner was a real joker, keeping the whole place laughing with his jests - seeing a couple where the husband we peering at cell phone, he shouts " Someone come talk to... More

We really had an overall memorable experience. A local restaurant with the owners serving the food. Off the beaten track an a abselute must if you're looking for something authentic. We had the Cote de Boeuf, very very good!!!
