We were very happy to have come across this restaurant when out and about in Bordeaux. The restaurant had a very intimate and private feel once inside. The menu was all in French and our French is not the best, however this was not a problem as the waitress went through the menu in English for us. I had the... More

Chef Pierre Eric Faure (no acute) specialises in texture, exemplified by the charred exterior and soft centre of a slice of goose liver, the contrast of veal kidneys with a soft loaf of minced veal offal and the slight burn on the exterior of a warm goat's cheese. The first was matched by a slice of cold pate de fois... More

PMK and I decided to go to Bordeaux with friends, the Hs. Our first two nights' dining were okay, but nothing special. Spoiled mostly by smokers who insist on lighting up upwind of you. Now I know that outside is technically an "espace fumeur" but there was no concession, let alone any sort of apology for smoke wafting downwind. Oh... More

Visited with my family in the evening. Enjoyed the set dinner tremendously - food was delicately plated and delicious. We loved everything from the fois gras and escargot to the steak to the surprise cheese platter to the chocolate dessert. The only down side was that nobody spoke fluent English and we had to translate the menu on our own.... More

We went there by accident (just having randomly fallen on the restaurant), and the food was exquisite. I am not a fan of foie gras so I cannot say much about it but other diners (we were 4 in total) loved it. It comes in several variants, including cooked. The fish (sturgeon and monkfish) and deserts were excellent. The wine... More

A really nice small family run restaurant. The food was fantastic, big portions and great flavours. The service was fantastic, taking the time to explain the menu and took fantastic care of us and everyone at the restaurant. The foie gras here was seriously amazing! Would highly recommend

Recommended by the hosts of where we were staying. Set in a quiter street. The decor very pleasing typical of an older style French restaurant I thought and quiet and calm . The food was good we had the menu for 28 euros plus wine and drinks (no english translation provided we had to ask for help but lady was very... More

The Good: Very welcoming, intimate dining room, well-executed food. The Bad: Our table was awkwardly situated behind a decorative pillar. My menu: The larger prix fixe menu (including an amuse bouche), with an aperitif, house wine, and coffee with dessert. What I paid: About the equivalent of $55 USD. Value? Absolutely. Not a cheap meal, but the value here was... More

Visited this restaurant a few years ago when my daughter was a student in Bordeaux a few times and then again very recently. It was lovely to see my specs are not rose-tinted! Great welcome, lovely amuse-bouches, delicious meal from entrée to dessert and a fun carafe, shaped like a very large (and I do mean very large!) wine glass,... More

On side street about a block from the Cathedral. This is a quintessential bistro, small, great service and tremendous food. Fixed price lunch included extremely generous and perfectly dressed Peasant Salad (with as much meat as an entree), delicate baked cod with gratin of potato, delicious and beautifully presented... Dessert was chocolate cake and raspberry sorbet...€20pp..such a deal...had to leave... More
