We had a superb and very delicious meal. It’s a very relaxed and casual atmosphere. The food quality was outstanding and very delicious. There is no official carte for the different wines but just ask what you’re looking for and they aim to please. Our server, Remi, was excellent and very pleasant. It set tres sympa, merci Remi pour un tres bon dîner et soirée. Highly recommend.

A nice place, hidden in the corner of a little square of Rue Neuve. Really good atmosphere and a delicious surprising menu and good wine. The 'garcons' are very professional, friendly, helpful. They did a great job to give me a personalised vegan option, which was not on the menu. First-class!

We had an amazing experience eating at this restaurant, hidden in a quiete alley in the city. The food was really good, and it is fun to see the chef preparing it trough the open window. Our host Dimitri was very enthousiastic and had good iputs in choosing our menu. We will come back again this week!

We enjoyed a great summer evening on the beautiful terrace with delicious food and a great atmosphere. The boys made us feel very welcome and gave great recommendations for drinks. The food was just excellent, every single dish we ordered was elaborated, sophisticated and delicious. I would definitly come back when in Bordeaux and would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys great food and drinks with a pleasant but informal atmosphere! We had dinner here tonight and although we thought we had a reservation for 18:00, turns out their kitchen didn't open until closer to 19:00. Jeff and the rest of the staff were totally accommodating -- we enjoyed drinks in their downstairs bar area and as soon as the kitchen was open, they came and brought us to our table. The prix fixe menu was wonderful - we had the Beef Tataki and Mimosa eggs to start, glazed pork and Bonifacienne Eggplant & the Tiramisu and Brioche for dessert. Everything was delicious. Service was impeccable, all of the staff and especially Jeff, who was the head waiter/maitre d' (?) were lovely. Jeff was friendly and helpful with our food and wine choices and made our dinner even more enjoyable. Overall excellent dinner and great experience for our first night in Bordeaux. Highly recommend a meal at Les Mauvais Garcons! We would definitely return again.

We've given this place several chances, mainly because it's conveniently close to home, but it's consistently been a disappointment. On one occasion, we stopped by for tapas and drinks. We had to wait 40 minutes for the tapas, and the staff completely ignored us, failing even to provide cutlery for the beef tataki. When we tried to get the attention of a server who was helping another table nearby, he initially ignored us and then curtly told us, "You can order drinks at the bar," despite having served our tapas earlier without bothering to bring a fork.
We decided to try it again for dinner, hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, the staff, though very young, were inexperienced and painfully slow. It took over 30 minutes just to get our appetizers. I strongly recommend avoiding the tuna ceviche—it was the worst I've ever had. The main course was equally disappointing: tasteless meat with no seasoning and a watery “sauce.” My partner and I agreed it was the worst dining experience we've had since moving to France.
Honestly, this place is only suitable for a quick drink. You can go in, serve yourself, have a drink, and leave. They do host some fun late-night parties, but they desperately need to improve both their staff and their food.
We definitely won't be giving this place a fourth chance!

We asked for cheese, something as a snack with our drinks thinking we would get olives, some slices of cheese, whatever. When a cheese board came we didn't mind, fair enough. Then they charged us TWENTY FOUR euro for a few pieces of cheese, and on their menu it says FIFTEEN?! Super dodgy, not a good place, they chatted to us probably trying to cover their guilt from robbing people. I just told my friends over coffee and they are the ones who noticed the 15 euro. Horrible place. Super low quality.

We came for an evening with colleagues, there were 29 of us, we took the menu for 29€.
There were several parties that night, we were set up in front of the counter and we're going to say that we were a bit in the way of the waiters and other people who came to order drinks.
We found the meal a bit expensive compared to what we were served (hummus toast/fresh cheese, charcuterie board, mini-bugger, rice croquettes, chicken, french fries plates and French toast/brownie + punch). And the drinks were found to be excessively expensive (glass of wine 7, demi 5, ginto 10), when we already consume for the meal. There could be prices you find for parties like this.

I went to this restaurant with my sister.
Very long service (arrivals at 9:25 p.m., leaving at 12 a.m. for a table of 2)
The service was simply terrible. As soon as we arrive, the waiter speaks to us informally (he’s a little comfortable but why not). After 30 minutes, the aperitif finally arrives: every other glass, we have to remind the waiter that there are two of us and that we have therefore ordered two glasses. He regularly interrupts our conversations throughout the meal to make comments about our looks (hair cut and color, age, physical resemblance, etc.). He explains to us that he “would have enjoyed a drink with us but I drank too much last night”…

Booked some weeks ago.
€27 three course dinner very reasonable value, though the waiter seemed concerned when my wife didn't want a starter. Went for his boss in case had misunderstood. Probably wise, though I thought we made it clear.
The diced tuna tartare, one of three starters on the menu, was very pleasant.
The pork rib chop main was nicely cooked, presented on mashed potato. The black pollock was equally well presented, on a bed of wild rice. Again, three options, the third vegetarian.
Tiramisu was great. Not too heavy.
A good selection of beers, wine and other beverages, all reasonably priced.
They also do tapas, though limited, and what amounted to a an antipasti cold meat board. Looked good.
Cool enough in the small square on a September evening, the trees and surrounding buildings keeping out the sun. A jacket was wise. A minor issue was the number of outside smokers, but the light breeze helped.

Open very late, excellent staff, we had a blast. We went out for dinner with our 9 year old son on a weeknight, we were probably the last table, and they didn't make us feel rushed. The food was great (thon mi-cuit, ceviche and black burgers). Small, fun and relaxed place, I recommend it!

Nestled in a small square you could easily miss this excellent restaurant/wine bar, it hiding behind trees and a childrens' play area.
In practice, beer seems the drink of choice for many patrons, or cocktails.
However, they do provide what amounts to a tapas menu, mainly cold fare.
We had the meat board, gravlax de beef, gravlax de poison, and the stuffed tomato. All very good. Very pleasant and efficient staff.
