I tried canelés from a few places but the ones from La Toque Cuivree were definitely the best. Each tasty pastry has slightly crunchy exterior underneath which lies a satisfyingly squidgy custard centre. The taste of vanilla and rum lingers sweetly afterwards.

Those Caneles are not tasty at all. No real flavour, just some sticky thing, with too much sugar. It is not the way they are baking them maybe..Maybe it is just the way they are in themselves, but I would not recommend them.
I tried Caneles at several places during my trip being as they're a speciality and I miss them so much...
This particular company have many little shops in the area, and are well priced compared to some other companies.

We did some extensive taste testing. You're welcome. The canales here are more rum-ish that others and we liked that. It you want them more custard-ish, get the larger sizes. If you like them more crunchy, get the mini ones. I'm still dreaming of these...More
