We were welcomed by the owner when we walked in before the restaurant opened. She told us to come back right when she opened since we didn't have a reservation. We got right in when we returned. There was probably 8 tables seating about 30 people. I had the pork, my sister had the rabbit and my mom had the... More

If you are in Bordeaux I highly recommend this beautiful place. We managed to navigate the menu with our limited french and a little help from the waitress! The food is spectacular. We had to go back a second evening to try some more dishes. Fantastic!!

We were taken to this great little restaurant by local friends. We all had different entrees which were quite nice but the pork dish to share was outstanding! With bread to soak up all the sauce, good wine and friendly company made for a great evening. Highly recommended, just make sure to book as place gets full quite quickly.

This place was recommended, was looking for typical local non-touristy restaurant and this place delivered. Reasonably priced, great location, small homey atmosphere. The food was excellent and very typical French Bordeaux region cuisine, like a homemade meal but better. Recommend to reserve ahead since it is small and gets busy. Also, I would say don't be the first two couples... More

We really enjoyed our dinner - very thoughtfully prepared and presented food. I had the fish of the day which was cod baked with vegetables and hubby had the pork. Both were so full of flavour and just spectacular. We paired it with a lovely local wine which completed the meal perfectly.

Bordeaux was very busy on Bastille Day and we managed to get the last table at this restaurant - next time we will book to make sure we get in. The food is delicious - I had very garlicky mussels to start. These had been removed from their shells, which meant no smelly fingers! My husband had eggs cocotte, which... More

We stumbled upon this place whilst looking for somewhere else and how glad we were! I don't think I have ever had more flavorsome food. Simply prepared and presented without fuss. We asked what the house specialities were and went with them. The mussels and goats cheese tart were great but the mains of pork and rabbit were just so... More

The food and service is just excellent. The restaurant is small, as is the menu, but don't let that deter you from a meal of great food and wine at good prices. No tourist pricing here! Recommend you to book to avoid disappointment.

We tried to dine at Bistro L'Exploit without a reservation. They were booked completely for our last two nights in Bordeaux. She recommended this place, and it could not have been better! We both had the lamb cooked with vegetables and sauce. It was delicious, accompanied with a half bottle of red wine from Haut Provence. The Madame of the... More
