We were attracted to this restaurant because it sells a traditional Alsatian dish (Baeckeoffe) that one person in our party wanted to try. There were six of us, and with my mediocre French and a young server's pretty good English, we were able to laugh and joke with him and the owners throughout the meal. Everyone enjoyed their meals and,... More

For authentic Alsatian food, this is the place. The meals are hearty, soulful and satisfying. I had the pig knuckles with fried potatoes, my wife had pork medallions and our friend had the kidneys in a mustard sauce. We were all quite satisfied. The restaurant is in an old cave across from the Cathedral in Strasbourg and is charming. Service... More

So I've been here 3 times over the last decade, and it just continues to be awesome. The ambiance, the food and the service are always superb and it's such a fun night out. Very regional food that is just spectacular - it will make you want to try and buy the famous baking pots to bring home (yep -... More

I decided to have my last dinner in Strasbourg here and it made me regret that I hadn't come earlier in my trip. I would have loved to try the other dishes if I had the time. I got the Le Gurtlerhoft set menu. Foie gras, Alsatian Baeckeoffe con carne, and the Kouglof ice cream. The food was perfect and... More

In the cellar of a building next to the Cathedral you will get quality food and good service. The menu is focused on the regional cuisine and has plenty of pork, chicken and cheese options; all having ample portions. The rosti is a medium size skillet with a mix of hash brown potato and melted cheese with options of additional... More

My husband, mom and dad went to this place at seven and it was empty by the time we left at nine it was packed. I got the three fish and sauerkraut and really enjoyed it and my family enjoyed their meals as well except for my Dad but he got the steak. I also got the frois grois which... More

During my 5th trip to Strasbourg I finally decided to explore this place. Located underground, the restaurant has a very unique and warm atmosphere. The staff was friendly and the food good as well. The place was packed so it's better to make reservations. Considering other excellent food options in the Strasbourg area, I would not say that this is... More

Stumbled here by accident because we spent the night in Strasbourg rather than on the boat. The food was great. large portions of meat, potatoes, speatzle and good wine and desert. Staff weren't great with English but that wasn't a problem and the service was good. We had a great time

We really enjoyed the poulet Riesling and porc Pinot Noir here, especially with the Spätzle. The surroundings are very atmospheric- set in a tavern/cave like decor. Felt authentic despite a few tour groups. Would definitely return - best meal we had in Strasbourg.
