After considerable thinking over what to order as not too many thing had attracted our attention, we had stopped at salmon for each of us. The overall impression was negative. The salmon was average but rather prone to lacking the true flavour. The spaghetti were mixed with untasty oil, which had made them hardly eatable. The service was not at... More

We came in for the special, turns out it was either starter or dessert and main course, for which the price was too high. In general the prices were too high for the meals we got which were avarage at best. The staff was not so friendly and didn't come check on us at all. Not a lot of options... More

My husband and I visited the day after New Year's Day. For starter, we had the beef carpaccio. It was served with a type of lightly seasoned aioli oil and was delicious. For main course we ordered the risotto with chicken and veal saltimbocca. The risotta was "done right" with tender pieces of chicken, small cut fresh vegetables (red bell... More

I know, visit France and eat at an Italian? You will see lots of French people in there as well so do as the locals do! Well the food was to French standards. Extremely nice food with well presented and cooked meal. Made for a Nice evening. Would dine there again.

We have been in several restaurants during the Christmas market season which were very crowded and in which the service was poor. However, this was not the case with the Bistro Romain. We were waited on almost immediately by a waitress with a smile and a good sense of humor about our French accents! The food was very good. We... More

Menu for most tastes. We had entrecote frites (my first french meal of this trip down memory lane!) and rissotto St Jacques - the scallops were superb. We are planning to revisit.

Very friendly restaurant with a varied menu. Located in the heart of the city, near Hotel Gutenburg. Large dining area.

We stumbled onto Bistro Romain and had dinner. The food for dinner was excellent, staff were superb and on the back of this, we decided to have Christmas lunch here. The staff were different, the food was good, but not great and the service was less that perfect. Very hard to judge this restaurant, but overall I am happy with... More

I believe this is a restaurant chain in France which you can find in many cities. Well, I didn't like it. Atmosphere was unfriendly, service was slow, toilets were just horrible and food was not good. You can eat it, but is way too overpriced. No "soul" at all in this kind of places. The only good thing was that... More

The lunch menu was a disappointment with grisly, tough meat. The surroundings are pleasant but it seems the type of restaurant which really only welcomes big spenders/expense account diners. My pre-lunch coffee was excellent and the person serving it (with great delay), friendly whereas our meal waitress was minimally courteous. I don't think I will be returning; the nearby Cafe...
