Beautiful historic building, probably the most photographed in Strasbourg after the cathedral. Great position overlooking la Petite France. Traditional dishes and service, all of it with discreet class and quality. Top quality choucroute.

From the outstanding ambiance of this old house remodeled to a superior restaurant, to the exceptional welcome of the distinguished maître d' who exudes culture, refinement and hospitality à la vieille France, to the appealing menu choices (both food and wine) and the attentive service of the waiters, this establishment is truly first class. Be sure to reserve your table,... More

After the long flights from Sydney-Singapore and then Singapore-Munich, then our road trip from Munich to Strasbourg via hohenzollern castle, we had our sit down and relaxing dinner here. We were ambivalent about this meal as we had never experienced any Alsace cuisine before. Wow, Maison des Tanneurs has really impressed us. Their foie gras is second to none. Beautiful... More

Located in La Petite France area, this iconic building houses a restaurant that does not rest on the impressive facade. I went with the Duck, and it was melt in your mouth delightful. I would happily return here.

The restaurant of authentic Alsase cuisine with opportunity to have 'choucroute' and other dishes as 'coq au vin'. All of them are good, a portion of choucroute is enormous-).

This is a very old house next to the river, and the restaurant on the inside is cosy and kept in an old style. As we could smell the choucroute the moment we stepped inside, we decided to go Alsatian and ordered the traditional variant and the one with guinea fowl. They both tasted nice, but the amount of food... More

The food is outstanding here, traditional and local, and all quite good. I have been here often and have tried just about everything on the menu. Also has a decent wine list, but know that the house wine is also quite good. The building is very old from the 1500's, decorations are warm and inviting. The restaurant overlooks the small... More

The best ever choucroute in our all life and we are turning to 50! The staff is so charming and professional , and the choucroute " la specialite de la maison des tanneurs" an absolute must. The restaurant himself is located in the old Strasbourg close to the canal in a fabulous house of the 16 century! Everything is great... More
