This really is a tourist 'quick eat' type of restaurant where tables are close together and the waiter arrives very quickly. Prices are reasonable having regard to the location. We had Potato Rosti with Munster cheese. Rosti is a favourite of mine and this one was not special but served piping hot in a cast iron dish. An ok meal... More

We decided to eat here as it served regional specialities at a good price. Service was great and the outside seating offers a chance to people watch while waiting for the food. The Roesti selection is huge and they are wonderful-go hungry! Service is excellent and food is delicious!

We had escargot very nice I would have 6 lorries of it not 6 escargot in total! A onion soup I didn't like tasted from a can not fresh even if I found it impossible and a tasty onion tarte..... All with few nice alsatian wines 😀

On the night we had dinner here it was quite cold and the waiter refused to allow us to move to an indoor table even though indoor tables were free. Food wasn't great and the waiters appear to be bored with tourists and are quite rude. Walk right on by this place, there are plenty of other places in Colmar... More

We actually wandered by after dinner and stopped for a beer. They have their own pils style beer that is very good on a hot evening! The table next to us had incredible looking dishes served in individual wrought iron pans... We had to go back the next day to try one! All are potato based (kind of a hash... More

We were probably unlucky that were IV the last table and a bit away of the radar of the waiter. We had to get up to order beer refill as they would forget to visit our table, and had to remind them too. Other tables that came later had their food earlier than us. Cheese salad was good but some... More

After a walk around Colmar we found restaurant Schwendi. We choose to eat here as it was very reasonably priced and served local dishes and it was also placed in a lovely area of the town. They were very busy but we did get served and the food arrived very quickly. I had onion soup and my husband a Rosti.... More

Yes, it's a tourist trap, and how could it not be, with its fabulous location in the centre of Colmar? But it doesn't mean that the food is bad. You'll find most Alsatian classics here: tarte flambée, baeckoffe, choucroûte... It's all good and inexpensive, and the selection of wines in pichets (jugs or carafes) is ok. Schwendi doesn't really need... More

We went here on a recommendation. I suppose the atmosphere is Alsatian, as is the menu. I had the regional sauerkraut and sausage speciality for the second time in three days-been there, won't do it again. I really do not understand the rave. My beer was good. My wife's salad was delicious and fresh. As is typical in many European... More
