Nice and friendly rooms and staff. Excellent food and wine, after an exiting starter we had the tomato first course, unbelievable concentrated taste. Then the "best" fish in the world, perfect in texture and taste. Duck breast, my wife's was a little too well prepared, but that was solved in an elegant matter, two desserts, both from another world. Wines... More

Reserve in advance for this outstanding restaurant in Colmar. Central to Old Town area. Gourmet dining at understated best. Impeccable service by extremely knowledgeable staff. Not inexpensive, but good value for what you receive. We will return to this venue many times.

Walked into a palace (metaphorically speaking) service outstanding food over the top wine selection could not better pairing for service (solminya in house). English, French and German. Going to Colmar be sure to make advanced reservations you don't want to be left . Thanks for a great evening

We tried the tasting menu which was really good, in particular the tomato dish was so refreshing. All the five dishes measure up to expectation. The wine recommended by the sommelier was excellent, it changed my friend's perception about wine. Service with good, basic communication in English is OK. I did not have a chance to tried other Michelin Star... More

We had dinner here on a Friday night not really knowing what to expect. You definitely need to reserve as it's very popular. The food was quite simply exceptional, the staff were friendly and very knowledgeable and were able to speak good English & German plus no doubt a host of other languages!! If we're back in Colmar then we... More

We both had the petit Galerie menu with the additional caviar option. The starter was refreshing and had a variety of flavours and textures to wake the palate. The monkfish with caviar was my favourite course of the evening although they were all excellent. Duck breast cam with some orange and a delicious ravioli. Then followed 2 contrasting but equally... I absolutely loved everything about it. Amazing food, lovely wine list, excellent service and division of disciplines. Our sommelier didn't try translating the menu and our waiter didn't try telling us about the wine and every dish on the tasting menu was alternately introduced by two waiters. Petite Gallery menu was excellent. I wish I had room for the longer... More

We stayed in the "old city" of Colmar and enjoyed a wide variety of restaurants. Reservations are required at L'Atelier du Peintre. We enjoyed the 5 course prix fix dinner. Food was excellent and unique. Great presentation. Service was timely but not over-bearing. Recommend for quiet night out if you are staying in Colmar. Not an inexpensive dinner...but worth the... Such a pleasure to sit quietly outside, away from the maddening crowds in Colmar, and to have an exquisite meal served in such a professional and friendly manner. Not cheap, but you pay for what you get.

For a restaurant with one Michelin Star, then this place is absolutely brilliant! Nice and cosy ambience and great service. The menu is only in French however, the waiters speak great English and are more than willing to translate. My girlfriend and I had the three course menu for dinner and at 45€ it has to be one of the... More
