We were lucky enough to get a table mid week for lunch without a reservation. The service was phenomenal! The server kindly explained the menu in English. The food was fantastic and interesting. This is not the normal Alsacian fare but rather an upscale french meal. They have a great wine list. Absolutely worth a visit!

It was our first evening in Colmar. We had just unpacked and wandered through this old town. After a while, getting a little familiar with the plan of the town we thought it was time for food. We had a reservation at a top restaurant for the other evening but did not reserve a table for this night. Of course... More

We only have good comments about the plates, presentation and the ideas of the chef congratulations. The service is so terrible that makes you never come back. We last 1 hour 1/2 since we were sited to the first dish. The sommelier didn’t want to provide us the wine menu, the high wine service temperature was closer to a tea... More

I was so pleased I booked this restaurant prior to travelling as it was easily the best meal we had in Alsace in terms of food, service and ambience. The restaurant is tastefully decorated. We were looked after extremely well by the staff including the sommelier who was helpful without being pushy. The food was fantastic from the amuse bouche... More

We have been at l'atelier du peintre several times over the years, and we have never been disappointed. The restaurant is cozy and nicely decorated and the service is good. All the courses we have had have been tasty and beautifully presented, and the prices are fair. Lunch - 30 euros for 3 courses, dinner - 80 euros for 7... More

This chique Michelin star restaurant is situated just behind the St. Martin church in the center of Colmar. We opted for the 5-course Petite Galerie menu which started off with an excellent salade with green asparagus and peas. The sea bass with avocado and roasted duck dishes were superb as were the cheese plate and sorbet with strawberries for dessert.... More

We had been looking forward to our dinner at L'Atelier du Peintre because we had heard such wonderful things about the restaurant. The meal was very good. However, certain aspects of the service were not of the level of excellence that one would expect from a restaurant with the rating that this restaurant has. For example, after dinner we were... Excellent dinner, in this one star Michelin restaurant, right behind the cathedral, in beautiful Colmar downtown. I started with the foie gras, in a dish added with intriguing sour drops, that created a perfect match to "clean" the mouth by the fat of the foie. Second dish was lamb chops, probably the best lamb meat I ever had in my... More

Great restaurant in downtown Colmar. The restaurant is small and cozy, with very attentive staff. Food was wonderful with great combinations without overdoing it. The only miss was in the wine serving where they forgot to serve us our wine when serving the main course. Overall the team absoluetely delivered on our expectations for a Michelin star restaurant.

We had the pleasure of dining here with a group of 9 and pre-ordered a 5-course prix fixe set menu starting with seasonal green asparagus with fresh peas; wild caught grilled fillet of bass with avocado, shellfish and cucumber; followed by roasted duck with summer truffles; cheese plate; and finished with wonderful fraises gariguette with sorbet for dessert. Lovely sweet... More
