This chique Michelin star restaurant is situated just behind the St. Martin church in the center of Colmar. We opted for the 5-course Petite Galerie menu which started off with an excellent salade with green asparagus and peas. The sea bass with avocado and roasted duck dishes were superb as were the cheese plate and sorbet with strawberries for dessert.... More

We had been looking forward to our dinner at L'Atelier du Peintre because we had heard such wonderful things about the restaurant. The meal was very good. However, certain aspects of the service were not of the level of excellence that one would expect from a restaurant with the rating that this restaurant has. For example, after dinner we were... Excellent dinner, in this one star Michelin restaurant, right behind the cathedral, in beautiful Colmar downtown. I started with the foie gras, in a dish added with intriguing sour drops, that created a perfect match to "clean" the mouth by the fat of the foie. Second dish was lamb chops, probably the best lamb meat I ever had in my... More

Great restaurant in downtown Colmar. The restaurant is small and cozy, with very attentive staff. Food was wonderful with great combinations without overdoing it. The only miss was in the wine serving where they forgot to serve us our wine when serving the main course. Overall the team absoluetely delivered on our expectations for a Michelin star restaurant.

We had the pleasure of dining here with a group of 9 and pre-ordered a 5-course prix fixe set menu starting with seasonal green asparagus with fresh peas; wild caught grilled fillet of bass with avocado, shellfish and cucumber; followed by roasted duck with summer truffles; cheese plate; and finished with wonderful fraises gariguette with sorbet for dessert. Lovely sweet... More

Recently visited and had the petite tasting menu (5 courses). Very well priced. The 5 was quite filling as it was presented. Food was excellent. Some very classic French dishes. Some were modernized. All were exceptionally prepared and presented. Both the fish and meat dishes were perfectly prepared. Room was reasonably busy. Service was adequate. Wine list was nice with... More

We read the trip advisor reviews of Atelier and went for dinner about 8:30pm. This is a very busy restaurant and we would advise making a reservation. The menu is completely in French but the staff all speak English and are more than happy to translate. The menu is small but perfect. Meat, fish, vegetarian are all available as well... More

We went to L'Atelier du Peintre as a treat for ourselves during a trip through Alsace and Lorraine. What a wonderful restaurant. We were treated perfectly by the wait staff and the Maitre d'Hotel. I had been wondering if I should get choucroute while in the area, and got a condensed version in a test tube as part of the... More

A breathtaking experience! For 100 euros I enjoyed a fabulous treat: charming staff, extremely knowledgeable sommelier who really found the perfect wines, not insisting on Alsacian wines when they didn't match my choice ....and raw and cooked crawfish to die for, exactly the right quantity, same for the wild sea-bass tasty and absolutely perfectly cooked. What to say about the... More
