Great place to visit for a low key Chinese. Pick your times though, sometimes you can't even get a table. Mad queue outside the door for the speciality Peking duck, which hangs enticingly in the window.

Eat here on Friday as last min choice! Really surprise how good the food was, in fact it was excellent, needs decorating! Don't let this put you off! Full of Chinese people which is always a good sign, they turned away at least 30 people while we were eating, £40 for 2 adults & 1 child! Will use again for... More

It had been awhile since I'd been to this restaurant so thought I'd give it a go again, to be disappointed.... It was certainly busy and I got one of only two tables free at 8.30pm. The service was pleasant and friendly, but my problems were with the food. I ordered as a starter the Pork Roll, which is pork... More

Went to happy seasons before a gig with my friend, as it was recommended it by others. Tucked away on Faulkner St, appearances can fool. There is no denying that happy seasons needs a bit of an overhaul in terms of decor and table layout. Small, cramped with too much furniture and old fashioned decor shout that you should turn... Never really ate Chinese myself until someone said try happy seasons you can't go wrong ! They were absolutely correct , the food is outstanding and the staff are very nice they are NOT ignorant and it can get busy at times but what do you expect going to a fantastic restaurant ! I can't fault the food, the fizzy... More

Me and my partner went to Happy Season in Manchester today for lunch just to try. We ended up in an argument with the waitress and didn't stay long due to poor service. The restaurant is small and overcrowded. Wonder how the restaurant managed to pass the health and safety rule. Food is average. There are nicer restaurants in China... More

Having read various reviews on Tripadvisor decided we would go to "another restaurant". This had two diners at 6.30pm, not a good sign. Across the road it was PACKED mainly with Chinese people who were obviously "in the know". Always a good sign. The tables are rather close together, the atmosphere buzzing, the waiting staff whizzing around delivering plates of... More

We've eaten in Chinatown for many years so when we saw an article about this place somewhere, we decided to visit. It's definitely not posh. Tables are very close together and the turnaround of diners was swift. There was a queue outside when we arrived at 1230 on a Saturday lunchtime and 75% of the diners were Chinese. All good... More

Just managed to get in, full of mainly chinese people (good sign!) and soon they were queuing to get in. Great duck, dim sum, seaweed, sizzling beef and house special chow mien, all delicious but too much for us, all at a good reasonable price, friendly staff and fellow diners. Yes no frills but good! Asked for the leftovers to... More
