Called in with friends after visiting Xmas market. We hadn't booked but a table was found and we were rather lucky as the restaurant was full. The decor and the toilets are not the best but seeing as it was our first time we had an open mind. We all had the £19 set meal and parts of it were... More

Stumbled on this place several mths ago, and decided to return as in area for the Christmas Markets. As before, superb! Was late afternoon, but still busy, most tables full. Although there is continual customers, sometimes queuing for a table, they never rush you - I noticed one single girl finishing her drink, on a table of four for about... More

The restaurant was not intended for tourist or non Cantonese customers. It was a local restaurant for the local Chinese. The menu was very Cantonese cheap eat style. However the restaurant attracted quite a large number of non Chinese customers. The quantity of food was very generous and the price was reasonable. The food was good and no fuss. I... More

When in Chinatowns I tend to avoid the larger touristy restaurants, so opted for the smaller Happy Seasons Restaurant on Faulkner Street in Manchester's Chinatown. From the outside its unassuming, but seemed busy with lots of Chinese customers inside (always a good sign in my book). On entry I waited to be shown to a table, but the waiter decided... More

This is one of the best in Manchester. You know that because it's full of locals and they are queuing out the door. The place is always busy and the food is amazing. Tonight I learned they have two menus , one for tourists and one for locals. They are very different, so ask for the Chinese menu and get... More

Whilst the exterior and interior could most definitely do with a "refresh", the food is excellent, and inexpensive. Working in central Manchester, this is just across the way and if it's Chinatown, then has to be Happy Seasons. Service is OK, if a little manic, but then I don't recall having been in when not full, so understandable.

Found ourselves in Chinatown and wasn't sure where to go....walked in off the street as it looked busy inside. So happy we did, lovely food, service with a smile and didn't break the bank. Recommended

Pleasantly surprised by this small restaurant. The interior is not the prettiest but the food more than makes up for it. Food is fresh and authentically prepared. We went on a Sunday night and the restaurant was constantly packed with queues from 6.30pm all the way up until 9pm. Full of Chinese local which is always a good sign. Booking... More
