Visiting or living here you HAVE to go to this little gem. Been coming for nigh on 30yrs, now living abroad, this is always the first place I eat on my return. All the curries are smashing but don't forget the sides, gotta get that hot fresh naan or a succulent shami kebab and then there's the bhaji and samosas...I... More

Decadent trip to Manchester with the good lady and no kids in tow - take in the Jazz festival, take on board a few beers and of course food becomes an essential. "This and That" has kept popping up through friends recommendations, newspaper reviews and of course the old TA contributions. Tucked away down a dodgy looking back alley you'd... More

Really great cheap Indian food! Just off Thomas Street in the Northern Quarter any regular passer by wouldn't have a clue it's even there, but they should. Totally worth a visit. What it looks like from the outside it more than makes up for with the food

I've been visiting this place for getting on 35 years now and I suppose that is a testament to it in itself. Despite the recent makeover, it hasn't changed much in that time either. The prices are still reasonable, they have a great range with selection of curries available and they're always of a good quality. On this latest visit... More

Great curry not to strong to taste the flavours. Friendly portions and easy service. Location might frightening some, but don't let you scare. Be nice to the gentlemen behind the counter - they deserve your respect.

If you are not worried about the look and facade of a cafe then this is the place to eat a hearty lunch, Packed full of people in suits at lunch time this place serves non nonsense Asian food. The backstreet alley may put you off but if you are visiting Manchester or live around here then do try this... More

This and that has become something of an institution in Manchester and i've wanted to see what the fuss was about for a while now, and decided to try it a couple of days ago. to walk through the trendy and modern northern quarter, past all the well presented and busy cafes and restaurants into Soap st, to be met... This & That is a Manchester institution, open since 1984 with an unchanging menu which rotates through a wide variety of curries for each week day. I visit every day, and go for the vegetarian option - rice and three vegetable curries (there's only ever three veggie ones on at a time). The food is consistent and excellent. Whether it's... More

Don't be put off by the location this truly is a hidden gem down a shabby back Street. I found this place over 20 ago and it's my favourite place to eat whenever I'm in the city centre. I urge you to try the daily specials Monday is Fish, Tuesday Cabbage, Wednesday Liver & Kidney if you are screwing your... More

I've been visiting This & That for many years & it never disappoints. The food is always fresh & just bloody marvellous value. The recent renovation has made the place even better & only likely to make this little hidden gem even more popular. Go to This & That if you want reasonably priced, great tasting authentic food.
