Let's be honest it's a greasy spoon curry house - no airs and graces, you queue for your food, find a spot to sit and crack on. But it's a great place for a quick tasty cheap curry at lunchtime. The food is good quality, varied and great value. It's not a restaurant, it's a cafe - but it's great.... More

very Spartan in appearance this Pakistani very cheap restaurant. long wooden benches and bare wooden tables with jugs of water and glasses provided. overall very clean in appearance. you queue in line for a variety of three meat or vegetable curries in one plate, from a selection of lidded hot steel pots served to you by very friendly and polite... Find the place and all is good. I've been here many a times and it's great that it's open Saturdays. 3 on rice is what I usually get. I've tried meat currys including lamb and chicken with or without bone or spinach. I've had the chipatis too. Everything is super fresh, tasty, unpretentious and just down right awesome. Two thumbs... More

Years back I worked in Manchester and used to visit this and that at least once a week. Sadly my work rarely takes me into the city centre now. I have fond memories of tatty old picnic tables and amazing curries. The former has been replaced with a smarter new interior and I'm pleased to say that the latter are... More

The quality of the food is going down hill. Not sure if it's due to the previous person not been around (quite a big guy). I have been coming in here every week for 3 years now. The curries are getting watery and lacking in flavour, the portion size is decreasing and prices are getting a bit ad-hock been charged... More

We decided to have a meal in this restaurant/kitchen after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, we have to say possibly one of the best Curries we have had, the flavours outstanding, the portions excellent, the value out of this world depending what you choose approx £5.50. Our fist visit was on Friday, we were that impressed we went the... More

This was our first visit to the cafe since refurbishment and we were pleased with what we found. A lot fresher and airy rather than dated and cramped. As ever, the food is freshly cooked and the choice is good. The 3 meat and rice curry for £6 is great value and the 3 veg/rice for £3.70 can't be beat.

Visiting or living here you HAVE to go to this little gem. Been coming for nigh on 30yrs, now living abroad, this is always the first place I eat on my return. All the curries are smashing but don't forget the sides, gotta get that hot fresh naan or a succulent shami kebab and then there's the bhaji and samosas...I... More

Decadent trip to Manchester with the good lady and no kids in tow - take in the Jazz festival, take on board a few beers and of course food becomes an essential. "This and That" has kept popping up through friends recommendations, newspaper reviews and of course the old TA contributions. Tucked away down a dodgy looking back alley you'd... More

Really great cheap Indian food! Just off Thomas Street in the Northern Quarter any regular passer by wouldn't have a clue it's even there, but they should. Totally worth a visit. What it looks like from the outside it more than makes up for with the food
