It's one of the best

We have been going regularly to the Lime Tree for ever. Maybe 15 years or more. We always find the food to be outstanding and the quality to be consistent. A rare aspect of too many restaurants. The staff are just great, welcoming and friendly but efficient. If we any favourite dishes it would have... read more

Met an old friend for a long overdue catch up here at her suggestion - excellent recommendation. It was quite busy for a Wednesday evening in January, but relaxed atmosphere. Service was fine - orders taken and delivered but otherwise we were left to chat undisturbed with none of that annoying constant "how is everything?" interruption. Food itself - a... More

When to the restaurant to celebrate a birthday. On arrival I was greeted as if I had done something wrong by turning up! No smile , no welcome chat. Taken to table and when I asked for an extra five minutes to look at menu waited( who I think is related to owners) walked off almost in a huff. The... More

Had dinner last night for my birthday. It was quiet as it was Monday. The staff were great as usual. I had beef Rossini. It was glorious. My husband had sea bass served on a salmon fish cake. I tasted it and it was beautiful. Lovely wine and the brûlée was to die for. Astonishingly great consistency. Having been coming... More

Living in Spain it has been a while since I have dined here. As it is round the corner from my father-in- law's abode we had lunch there to celebrate his 91st Birthday. This has been, for many years, an excellent Restaurant. It is not cheap but both the Menu & Wine list are well thought out. To commence we... More

Great food, great service, great company.. the only reason why it is a 4 rather than a 5 is because we couldn't get the bill for over 20mins - this we didn't mind as the place was busy. It was a group of 4 and it was a welcomed reunion and we wanted to move on after being there for... More

I've always known The Lime Tree as a really top class restaurant. I hadn't been for a few years and went last night but found it disappointing. The décor and table-settings looked a bit tired - not the polish of the old days - and the Christmas decorations were quite cheap and Seventies looking. My friend and I really enjoyed... More

Popped in for a late lunch for the Christmas menu, something we've done before but not as often as my wife would like! Warm welcome, relaxed atmosphere, efficient & friendly service. Menu offers excellent value and tried a few different wines (generous tastes supplied) before selecting a different red each. Only adverse comment was that the chocolate mousse was too... More

This has to be one of the best places to eat in Manchester. The food is simply excellent - each course was perfect. Friendly service, nice atmosphere. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Once again the Lime Tree excels itself on the Xmas Menu front. Had an excellent pheasant for my main meal, but my partner's nut roast looked so good had to have a taste and it was excellent. Tend to find nut roast either excellent or inedible and this was delicious. The bottled bitter was also good - a rarity in... More
