Sculpture Hall Cafe is in the Manchester town hall building. A great place to have afternoon or lunch. The setting is great and the service was good.

Absolutely fabulous place to enjoy a cup of tea and cake. Afternoon tea looked amazing, you need to book. The cakes were amazing, lovely big pots of tea, superb service and very reasonable.

Firstly you need to book. Secondly beautiful quintessential Gothic designer surroundings in the town hall. Thirdly excellent attentive without being in your face. Fourthly and importantly the food. If tes, perfection. I can recommend both the meat and vegetarian hotpots. The cakes are simply divine. The tea is so tasty too. The prices are unbelievably reasonable. Our waitress Gabrielle was... Had afternoon tea on Tuesday this week....it was served with great style.......delicious finger sandwiches, chocolate cake and pistachio and almond cake.........this is one for an experience....not if you're really hungry..... we had been passing through the Town Hall when we were really attracted by the sight of Afternoon Tea being served. For me though the actual tea itself wasn't great... More

I visited with a friend for the third time this year.On the three occasions,we have had afternoon tea.The first time ,last May,was excellent;not quite so good in November, and very poor yesterday. The sandwiches were at best ordinary, the savoury additions were miniscule and unmemorable....and the scones and cakes were stale. The service,as always was really good and the surroundings are beautiful and... More

Fantastic building and lovely staff but to be honest it's hard to see how they justify the price for the amount of food you get. Very little filling in sandwiches and very small scone! The surroundings are first class but unfortunately the food lets it down.

Lovely little café in the city town hall. Such a classic building and a great environment to enjoy a nice lunch or coffee. The service matches the excellent surroundings and the food is delicious. If you are visiting Manchester it’s worth popping into for a bite to eat or if you are from Manchester and never been in the town... More

Went for afternoon tea with a friend, the building is beautiful and adds to the ambience. We were greeted by a very pleasant waitress and escorted to a table boasting plush Victorian style leather armchairs. The food was excellent and they were happy to substitute any sandwich fillings we didn't like. A very pleasant experience on a wet Tuesday afternoon.

My girlfriend and I have visited this cafe three times now. The first time was on the first day of the Christmas market in November. Although busy, we were quickly seated by attentive staff and had a hot lunch. The second time was in January where again we had excellent lunch. Then this February, visited for afternoon tea, having seen... More
