service was abysmal , waiting an hour for starters to come out , the portion size was absolutely tiny and not worth the money at all , soup was lukewarm staff did not tend to the table at all . Can’t even explain how Overpriced...this place is. I’m all for spending money on good food but a 7 pound starter gave 4 tiny prawns🥲.More

Visited over the weekend and had another lovely meal. The Pork tomahawk was fabulous and was cooked to perfection. My wife had the sea bass which was served with a lovely potato dish. Prices were on a par for good quality restaurants in Manchester. This...is our third visit this year and we never fail to be impressed. Waiting staff were very friendly and attentive. Looking forward to our next visit.More

Outstanding. Great roasties and Yorkshire. Delicious gravy and a generous portion of meat. Also, my cousin said the vegan Thai curry was the best they'd had in years. Good burgers too. Will be back!

Food at the Wharf has always been a bit of hit and miss and was particularly bad after re-opening following covid lockdown but I put that down to lack of quality staff as other establishments had similar understandable issues at the time. The menu now...describes their burger as an up-market steak burger and I ordered one. The meat was generous and parted much the way I'd expect if it had been handmade but unlike others I've had in the past it seemed much lighter and actually fell apart and was annoyingly reluctant to stay on my fork without disintegrating further. It also tasted quite disgusting, more fat then meat flavour and reminded me of the cheapest burger you can imagine might be served at a greasy roadside pop-up. It also had a greyish colour. There was also a tasteless piece of bacon in the bap over a generous slice of a gherkin-like object that was very sour and tasted nothing like a gherkin. The bacon slice was literally 1mm thick and mostly fat, with a limp consistency, appearing as if it had simply been heated from frozen as it looked nothing like a freshly fried rasher. Even the top of the brioche bun came apart in my hand as I opened it to look inside. But the burger was the worst part. Its taste, consistency and colour makes me wonder if they had in fact defrosted a couple of the cheapest supermarket burgers and mashed them together to give the appearance of being handmade. There is no way I would describe it as a steak. It didn't help that the chips were not very nice either. Overall I have to say it's one of the worst burger meals I've ever had anywhere and the £15.95 price is nothing less than shocking. I'll add I had the exact same experience there about 6 months ago. At the time I gave them the benefit of the doubt and put it down to my bad luck and didn't write a review. Sadly it wasn't bad luck, it was deliberate: the burgers are atrocious, and my partner who had a curry, said that wasn't very nice either. Beer prices are noticeably high too. Up on the ceiling chalkboard near the entrance/bar I noticed a 4.1% beer priced well over £6. I remarked I'd only expect to pay that if it was 8%. As if to clinch my point, afterwards we visited the Gasworks micro-brewery opposite Home and by chance I found an outrageous but delicious 11% beer priced at £6.30 for 2/3 pint. The Wharf pub has got more and more expensive and now makes itself out to offer a high class restaurant but the reality is the opposite: ever higher high prices but the quality has gone down and down. We won't be going back.More

I was a little bit hesitant at first to attend The Wharf as I thought the management was poor. Well ... I was definitely wrong !! The atmosphere was very warm and friendly nothing felt like too much of a bother. The waitress's service was...fantastic! I sadly do not know her name but she was very friendly and had a very attentive attitude. i dont know if there is a change in owner or Manager but dam there is a big change !! Food was amazing with great portion sizes. I had a beautiful steak while my wife thoroughly enjoyed the deep fried cod . 5 star for the food !!!More

Went here for a work event. I only ate 1/3 courses of a set menu (not a great choice either). The main course (vegan pasta) was so salty I couldn’t eat it. Dessert was too sweet (cheesecake). The choice of red wines by the glass...was poor (all bar one was poor quality European wines). Service and staff was very good. Lovely location but would never come back here.More

Wow! If you are a fan of Yorkshire puddings you must visit the Wharf for Sunday lunch. The food was amazing, delicious beef and the veg were perfectly cooked. On top of this we had the most amazing friendly service. The place was really busy...and buzzy with a lovely atmosphere. Genuinely dog friendly as well. Thank you for a great and memorable lunch. We’ll be back next time we visit my son in Manchester!More

Staying in Manchester during the hottest week of the year. We decided to visit because they served Sunday roasts, which one of the party fancied. We walked in and were not allowed to order drinks at the bar....not even to approach the bar We were...directed to a table where we were told someonewoyld come and take our drunks order.....we should have left at this point. Ten minutes at least lapsed before a young girl came with menys and bottled water to the table, and promptly disappeared....I truth she probably was not old enough to take our drinks order. A further 10 minutes and a chap arrived to take our FOOD order, whereupon I said we hadn't even ordered our drinks. He took our drinks order and another 10 minutes later they arrived and we ordered our food. A roast pork dinner and two Moroccan lamb salads. The roast was the smallest adult roast dinner I have seen. Our salads were more like starters......the salad was a couple of little gem leaves with about a tankespoonful of couscous, the lamb, described as crispy, was dry. The waiter was not particularly friendly, the service abysmal and a service charge was added to the bill of nearly £70. Extortionate considering two left the table still peckish. Taking advantage of the tourist trade big time.More

Sold us a drink, and only after we paid for it we were being told that we have 10 minutes to finish it. I am not in my amazing teen age anymore, when I could finish a pint within 10 seconds. The attitude was like...it is our fault and we annoy the stuff:) we had to leave drinks with no refund provided or any other solution given. It is not about the money, it is about the ruined evening and the attitude we recieved. Last order is time to order, then usually given time to finish drink. If don't want people to drink don't accept order. Otherwise it looks that this place is not about the experience and good time, but only avout sales. Shame, I used to like it a lot.More

Although a little walk from the city centre this is definitely a place worth seeking out. The food has been great on the times we have eaten there but this time it was just for drinks. The Sun was out so we always head to...Castlefield and, although the pub was quite busy, it copes with the crowd well. The outside seating area is really big and has fabulous views of the canal and the tower blocks nearby. They do a great range of beers and some really good bitters amongst them. Average city centre prices and the service is always prompt and friendly.More

Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant they are only allowed downstairs in the bar. This helps with the lovely community atmosphere of the bar and the dogs are very welcome by most visitors.

Yes very much so. My children are often here with me. It's our local. Fenced area and benches outdoors. Common sense prevails obviously to keep an eye on them but we love it there
