After intending to visit Habesha for sometime, I finally went with my partner who had been enthusing over it since his 1st visit the week before. The restaurant itself is situated above a kebab shop, and is entered via a spiral staircase in the shop. Do not let this deter you as Habesha more than lived up to my expectations!... More

I visited Habesha following a recommendation from a friend and I was certainly not disappointed. The menu is fairly limited but the food is absolutely delicious. What a unique opportunity to try authentic Ethiopian cuisine at the only place of its kind in Manchester. The staff were lovely and I enjoyed the family-run feel of the restaurant. I also couldn't... Having toured UK for two weeks, our dinner at Habesha ranked among the most memorable. Sited in an edgier part of Manchester city, with the ground floor serving kebab, Habesha is cool place to go for a meal. Location aside, the service is superb. Food presentation was unusual and the spicy lamb (Awaze Tib) was simply superb. The chicken (Doro... More

My son took me here. Lovely atmosphere and authentic good value food. Very different to anything else. Other diners very friendly and helped and advised us what to eat. Suggest a vegetarian dish ad well as meat for variety. Will be back

It is a bit tricky to find this restaurant. We had to enter a kebab/pizza place and then there was a spiralstair leading to Habesha. The service was very good and friendly. The food was delicious. We tried both vegetarian dishes and ate it with injera. Really tasty! It comes at a resonable price. We paid 16 pounds for two... More

Limited menu and a first time try of Ethiopian food but was quite tasty . Nicely spiced food served with a bread which is hard to describe : slighty sour and lemony , not unlike a pancake ! More like a cafe than a restaurant , I would prefer to go during the day than for an evening meal .... More

I have eaten here several times now and am yet to be disappointed. The inauspicious entry at street level serves only to highlight the transformation into an Etheopian parlour up the spiral staircase, and the warm welcome makes you feel that you have been invited into a family home for the evening. The range of dishes, including vegetarian, has always... More

The food was fresh, flavourful and authentic for what I know about Ethiopian food. And all of this at an amazing price. You can get a decent size meal plus a beer for a tenner and all of this in the very city centre. And although the place is not a glamorous restaurant, our waiter was amazingly friendly, explained to... More
