First time here and on looking through the window we could see that all customers dining here were Chinese/Japanese so decided to enter. Very basic surroundings, very canteen looking even cokes were served warm from cans. The starters we ordered were tasty, 1/4 crispy duck and prawn toast and garlic king prawns. The mains arrived after we tried to tell... More

Left work early, parked up in charles street and decided on a chinese before the gig in Gorilla.Pre gig feast in Han dynasty. Ordered a starter and a main, Chicken and noodles, which the so called chicken, was actually cartiliage and skin. When I collected my jacket and rucsac, then they decided to bring my starter over. Which I told... More

I went with a friend tonight. It was terrible. Terrible food, terrible service and if you aren't Chinese it's not for you. We were given a menu that it turns out according to the staff is 'for English people' and is '..to your tastes'. The hot and sour soup was made with spam. The Char Sui Buns had burgers inside... I've only just read the reviews for this place and I'm really shocked as I felt it was really clean, very authentic, cheap and good food. It was very busy, the kitchen was open and you could see what was going on & we were the only English in there - was really good & I would return.

So suck and they even gave me an attitude when I just kindly wanted them to repeat what I have ordered. Highly not recommended if you don't speak mandarin. Bad service.

The place looked rather like a cafe and the menu was not appealing either. I was served a full 10 mins before my companion's food finally arrived. My dish was extremely salty and swimming in grease (the cumin lamb) partner had spicy fish and left it all as it was smothered in red chilis. The rice was stodgy and sticky.... More

I visited this restaurant with a group of 10 friends. We stumbled upon this place by chance looking for a quick bite to eat whilst on a night out. We were almost put off by the waiter as we entered as he quickly explained that they did not do the usual take away fodder like prawn toast, spring rolls etc.... More

Its ok to try once as something different but you have to order the right kind of food. The chinese tapas was ok but only if you choose the chinese northern dishes not the southern dishes which many people are familiar with. This restaurant appears to target a niche group of chinese students of northern part of china. I do... More

Been here with colleagues a few times. Authentic Chinese restaurant, prices are a bit higher than normal for Chinatown (no lunch deals) but portions are a little bigger. The food is very tasty, but it is quite oily (even the vegetables!) so you might want to avoid this one if you are on a low-fat diet, or you just can't... More

Had I seen the reviews I might not have used the restaurant, so perhaps the negative experiences some have reported are more about attitude and expectation. As soon as we were seated it was clear that the restaurant was targeted at young Chinese. The waiter apologised that the full menu was not in English, but as the dishes were pictured... More
