My good lady took me once again to one of our favourite restaurant's for a birthday treat. We both started with Broccoli and stilton soup, then Belly pork with Black pudding and apple sauce with red hot roast potato's, carrots parsnips green beans and Broccoli. The food was superb and the service as usual was excellent. To anyone who wants... More

Visited Didsbury to do a bit of shopping and have some lunch. This resturant was a great find. Down a little cobbled street. Lovely ambience. We had pork belly with black pudding and risotto. It was divine. I had rice pudding with boozy compote and my husband had apple crumble tart. These were delicious. Nice size portions. Very pleasant waitress... More

I booked this for a large party of friends after reading the great reviews. Being a small place I was hoping it wouldn't be poky and dark. It wasn't, it was light and stylishly decorated. The meal was truly superb and all the staff made sure everything was perfect. Would definitely recommend!

Not been here before, but came with friends who had as they live in the area. Hidden gem down quaint side street. Only a few choices on the menu but the food was really nice and cooked and presented to perfection. Not cheap either but you get what you pay for. Nice venue, ideal if you are with friends and... Nice relaxing decor, pleasant atmosphere. We ( group of 6 ladies) ate from the weeknight menu and found it good value and with good choices and alternatives. I had chicken liver pate and then beef with mash - both excellent. House wine also very nice and good value. We would go back.

Ate here on a Tuesday evening and had the mid week deal. Everything we ordered was good quality and well cooked. The portions were quite big so we couldn't fit in a dessert. The service was a bit too quick but to be fair they didn't rush us when we'd finished. It was quite busy for a Tuesday so there... More

I don’t often mention prices in my restaurant notes but the midweek menu at No 4 is a snip at £18.95 for three courses. It’s offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and it runs alongside the main menu, offering four choices at each course. There was nothing that I wouldn’t have been entirely happy eating. So, there’s a ham hock croquette,... More

Visited for a family Sunday lunch. Lovely ambience, helpful unobtrusive staff, and delightful cuisine make this a special find, tucked away in a narrow cobbled lane just off the main road to Didsbury from Manchester. I was most impressed on my first visit in August, hence the return visit with my family - and the restaurant lived up to all... More
