Located in the centre of Manchester this gem of an Italian restaurant never fails to impress. With the initial decor that is stunning and the Grade 2 listed building impresses from inside. The service is very friendly and the food is amazingly good. The last...few times i have opted for a lunch and there is no let up on the standard even by daytime.More

The food was generally very good but a friend had an issue with her main course (can't remember as it was around 5 years ago now) and my ravioli was very thick around the edge which meant it was raw. Given the price and what...I had read about the restaurant I was underwhelmed and I have not been back as there is another Italian restaurant nearby that I consider to be better.More

Beautiful place, decor is lovely. Large environment. My friend and I had lunch time menu. Felt the choices were ok for starters and main. Friend had the salad which she said was lovely good portion size. I had the pork sausage with pasta. Good sized...portion very enjoyable. We both had the cod. No sauce with it and served with stems of broccoli and I would say 2 sized olives sliced. No other veg given. Cod cooked lovely but ever so boring. £19.99 lunch menu I would expected more vegetables. Chose an aperitif (Cinzano) the waitress said what's that do we sell it? She came back to say none in stock. Chose something else. Another waitress came over to offer something similar to cinzano. A bit late. Our conversation kept being interrupted. Puddings were nice cheese cake one choice and chocolate profiterols Wasn't impressed with our waitress or the food really put off going there again. We wasn't rushed but given the current Corona Virus it was very empty. I counted 7 people. Sorry not for me this place.More

The reception staff were helpful and friendly, we had a suitcase, due to coming from work, they allowed us to store it behind the reception, which was great because the route was a little tight. The food and wine selection were really very good and...we enjoyed both. The waitress who served us was very friendly and attentive (Teleka is her name), the only downside, was that the music was too loud, it is probably for a bar I think not for dinning, I am not a fan of dance music when I am eating and trying to have a conversation. Looking at most of the clientele it is aiming for the younger market.More

This is quite an exclusive place right in the heart of Manchester. Prices are on the higher side but the food is truly exceptional. Very high quality and fresh ingredients. The only reason why I did not give the full 5 stars is at times...the slow service. But this is complaining on a very high level but the overall impression was still great.More

On arrival we were greeted by friendly door staff who warmly welcomed us. On entry we were shown to our seats and attended to by one of the waitresses who was very professional throughout. We spent a little time before ordering simply soaking up the...atmosphere. The decor was great ... the building and architecture was amazing - very ornate, grande and very interesting; the injection of modern interior design complimented the listed building with some very clever design touches. The music was just right the choice and volume level allowed clear conversation, something that a lot of other restaurants struggle to achieve. The whole place was very clean and attractive. FOOD: There was a good range of choices on the menu. The food took a little time to arrive, but that is a good thing as it proved on the taste test that it was fresh and very well prepared - very tasty and good portions. The restaurant had a good flow of diners visiting throughout the evening, ranging from families to couples, groups of friends to football fans and even football players/celebrities arriving after the early local derby - Man U and Man City game. Everyone behaved in a manner which allowed the atmosphere to remain relaxing throughout. SURPRISE: The waitress picked up on the fact that we were celebrating a Big Birthday and a surprise cake with candle arrived to our surprise top off a great night.More

Hello. Just been to Rosso for my daughters birthday. Nice food , great waitress , terrible management and table time policy. Apparently you have 2 hrs per table so why would you take a desert order at just before the 2 hrs and then rush...us off the table. Awful management with no empathy. Back to San carlo next time DominicMore

No restrictions, but it is a semi-quiet drinks and dinner type place. As long as your 4-year old isn't prone to constant screaming melt-downs in public, it should be fine.
