Had a brill meal at thornhurst manor thanks to the two girls on duty who managed to persuade the kitchen to stay open a little longer! Thanks Beth and Tracy for your help and the cook for a grand meal, will def be back again.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The menu was varied and the food was delicious, fresh and cooked to perfection. Throughout the evening the staff were very attentive to all the customers. We have been here several times recently and have always been delighted....Special recognition to Tracy, Kerry, Beth and Erin for all their hard work. Thank you.More
What a lovely evening! From getting into the restaurant to leaving. All of the staff were absolutely amazing! Kerry waited on us most of the night and she was so lovely. She made my little boys 3rd Birthday extra special with some cake and candles....Food was amazing as always and we have booked in again for next week :) 10/10 from us.More
Visited today to meet friends, having not been here for years. What a lovely surprise. Food beautiful, home made and delicious. The Rocky road pudding was best ever. We all enjoyed everything, service excellent despite covid conditions and still 10% discount, so instead of being...about £70 for 4 it was £40! It was still great value at £70. The manager took time to explain dietary options available. Will be back soon.More
We returned to Thornhurst before Boris could block us all from Dining Out again! We usually eat in the bar but decided to make a booking for the restaurant and see how the change in venue alters the Dining experience. All the expected Covid-19 precautions...are in place so you feel safe and as always the whole place is scrupulously clean.
The Restaurant is more comfortable that the bar and has more staff so you definitely have a more relaxed experience. After filling in a contract tracing form we were shown to our table and supplied with menus and a very short while later our drinks. Once we'd had time to check out the Menu our order was taken by Kerry and in a short while we were enjoying our selections.
Later Erin brought us the Dessert Menu's and after an initial disappointment that the Red Velvet Cheesecake was not available we chose an alternate which proved just as enjoyable.
When we asked for the Bill we were surprised to find that there was 50% off the food, there had been no mention of this on the menus. Obviously this was a big plus to the evening, though unexpected. So the Thornhurst is highly recommended as a Dining Experience and very highly recommended if you visit Monday through Wednesday.More

We came to Thornhurst on the 5th to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. It was a last minute decision as my father had been shielding due to recovering from radiotherapy and had been nervous about going out. We didn't need to worry, the restaurant...is well laid out with a one way system and social distancing was not an issue. The service was amazing with Tracy Sarah and Beth taking good care of us from start to finish, nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing, with everyone commenting how lovely it was and was very reasonably priced. Hoping to back in October for my daughter 18th 🤞More
My wife & I have just completed 3 visits in less than a week, Tuesday lunchtime, Saturday lunchtime and Sunday evening, a total of 17 courses between us. The food was mostly excellent, bar the southern fried chicken goujons on the Tuesday lunchtime which were...a bit overcooked (although very good on the Sunday evening) and a portion of chips on the Tuesday lunchtime that was both cold & hard, suggesting it was the end of a batch that had been standing awhile. At least the Tuesday lunchtime food came with 50% discount, so thank you for that. One sirloin steak ordered medium by my wife on the Sunday evening was rather more rare than she would have liked, and was more like my sirloin steak ordered medium rare on the same evening, which was both tender and very tasty. Good scampi and super steak & ale pie, but the sausages weren't up to much, although their accompaniments were. Great peas, petit pois actually, and fresh vegetables not overcooked. The standout dessert was the cornflake tart which was divine, I had it twice, and it didn't matter to me that it was served with traditional custard rather than the pink custard on the menu. Disappointing that some desserts seemed to be in short supply. The staff were all good, but special mention must go to the lovely Beth, the young lady with the pigtails and most engaging smile, who was very pleasant indeed. Music a little too loud for us, but you're never going to satisfy everyone on that, both on volume & content.More
