We went here for our anniversary meal and it was amazing. We popped by during the day just to confirm everything was OK for the table that evening and they remembered my boyfriend's name from the booking as soon as he asked. The gent at the door waved us off and said "see you tonight!" which was sweet. We got... More

We recently visited the Sultan @ Lancaster University which has the same owner as the Sultan of Lancaster. We were staying at the University Guest rooms for a wedding in Lancaster. The staff were superb, extremely helpful and accommodating. We had a wonderful meal and everyone in our party of 7 enjoyed the experience. Thoroughly recommend it. It is open... More

I was killing time in Lancaster and wandering about looking for an 'Indian' restaurant of which there seems a dearth of in this city. I came across this place, which is a converted Methodist church. Apart from the ethnic eateries you can get in Bradford this is the first time I have ever been in a ruby house that doesn't... More

We hadn't booked on a Thursday evening and were seated within 5 minutes. There were a few others, including a party of 20, but it wasn't too busy. The waiters gave us plenty of time to choose what we wanted but we had been chatting. On the second time to check whether we were ready he indicated that we might... More

Went on a Sunday eve, (31st July 2016). Restaurant empty with the exception of one table. On arrival the staff (two males) were on their mobile phones and ignored us completely. Finally (in their time), they made their way to the counter to greet us. After being shown to our table we were advised that they did not sell alcohol... More

We used to go here years and years ago as students! Absolutely beautiful inside. Very friendly service. Simple and incredibly well priced menu (we randomly happened upon Happy Hour). Delicious food. Generous portions.

My misgivings about dining alcohol -free were dispelled by the pleasant soft drinks available by the jug or glass. The restaurant is in a converted chapel and has been very tastefully completed respecting the original features whilst incorporating new ethnic decor. The food was very good. The naan breads were superb - like pillows - and wonderful flavour and texture.... More

We popped in off the cuff during an overnight visit on our way home from a family holiday. We hadnt booked but that wasnt an issue and we were seated almost immediately. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The food was delicious. From the poppadums and pickles, to the starters to the main courses with the sides. The kids... More

I come here every few years via narrow boat and this restaurant is top of our list to visit when here. It never lets us down. The decor is sympathetic, the staff are delightful and the food absolutely delicious. Ok, no alcohol but wow, the mocktails are really tasty and make a wonderful change. I can certainly recommend the mango... More

Highly recommend paying a visit here whilst you still can. Good value for money. Excellent quality food. Very fast service. Extremely pleasant staff. We had a table for 15 people, mixture of starters, mains and soft drinks all totalled to £150. No alcohol is served or allowed in the restaurant but Lancaster is full of pubs sonjust enjoy the amazing... More
