Stayed for two nights here, couldn't fault the room lovely. Our main gripe was the breakfast & lack of staff waiting on, in short one poor girl to serve make the coffee and clear the tables, we were seated at 10am our coffee arrived half and hour later as she was being rung by the kitchen staffs bell when a... Been here a few times over the years now, always good food and a good pint. This time we went late on a sunday evening. Sat in the bar area as it was full in the restaurant. We ordered starters and Sunday lunch. As usual all was tasty and fresh. Both mains had loads of roast beef on them. We... More

We were a group of four who had four different dishes, served by cheerful staff. They had a special of a free bottle of wine with every two main courses ordered and this was NOT house wine. We stayed after to try the locally brewed Borough, beer sat in large leather chairs and they gave me discount for being a... More

A work colleague was leaving & had her farewell dinner here. Wasn't sure what to expect as not from the area however when I arrived the restaurant was really busy & a good atmosphere even early on a Thursday evening. The staff were good as there was quite a large party of us, I had chosen slow cooked pork which... More

Went here for a meal with my partner and 2 friends. Amazing food at a good price. Very classy feel to the place. Traditional out in the bar area.

My wife and I called in for Lunch on Saturday, it was not very busy. but the service was slow and they could not give a damn about us, the food was average and this visit would be our last, which is a pity as I have always found it to be handy and serving good beer.

As a regular here we had looked forward to our visit but were so disappointed. Ordered a britvic orange, j20, gin and tonic and Bacardi and Coke to start. How could this go wrong? 20 minutes later no drinks and the place was empty so asked. 5 minutes later got an orange squash, j20 replacement that was fizzy, and a... More

Visited with my husband & 2 daughters. The staff are all so polite & friendly. They have an allergy menu, which covered everything except the kids menu which I hope will be included now. The waiter went to check with the chef about my daughters allergies and couldn't do enough. Great price, great food. :-)
