4 of us came for a business lunch/catch up and had a delightful time. Welcomed and given the choice of our reserved table, or in front of the fire. Service was attentive and prompt without being intrusive. The seabass and risotto was divine; the cod in blackpudding crumb with parsnips was also lovely. I think the black pudding got lost... More

We went for lunch and enjoyed rack of lamb and duck dishes which were both delicious. Afer we enjoyed the crumble with custard which was a lovely finish to the meal. The cheesecake was a disappointment but I think this was a one off. The staff were quick to pick up on the fact that we had left this dessert... More

This is a busy pub with very good food and service. We have been here a few times and the it has always been busy. So if you want a quiet evening meal, the bar might not be right for you. However, if you like the atmosphere and the enthusiastic reception and service, it sings. Interesting starters, mains and puds... More

This is an excellent venue for a party, off street parking and away from the main roads. The food was superb and we had an area just for our party of 20+ people, food was served together and hot, which is no mean task. Thank Yu to all the staff who made this a very enjoyable experience.

My husband and I eat here regularly but last night's meal was beyond outstanding. Hubby had seafood risotto to start, then rack of lamb. I had the most favourable super salad, absolutely the best, followed by John Dorey/Brill fish. All ouzing with flavour. I love the fact there is a variety of fish on the menu and portions are plentiful.... More

Popped in here for lunch as we happened to be driving by on the M40. It is really no distance at all from junction 12. An old pub with a traditional feel and helpful staff. The food was fantastic, hearty and tasty. Not just your standard pub grub. They do home made pies and I had a gunieafowl and venison... More

We had been recommended this restaurant by a foodie friend. Maybe it is under new management now? We certainly couldn't see any reason to recommend it. The food was bland and overcooked. It was certainly way too expensive for what it was. The ambience was unappealing and the pub rather grubby.
