To be fair this visit was last year and things may have changed. Nice couple run it but when I went in on a Sunday, the chef was away. It certainly wasn't the best roast - potatoes were hard and the carrots were grey! Yorkshire puddings were something else though - HUGE!!! Haven't been back since....

I attended a weeding here on Saturday and it was amazing the venue looked amazing with all the decor and the host very friendly and helpful "as my dad can't walk". The food chosen was wonderful and the buffet at night set out was just as a high standard "everyone commented" a must visit venu I live around the corner... More

Booked a table for lunchtime. When I called initially there was a lot of hesitation as to whether there was a table available, it sounded as though they were going to be very busy but would squeeze us in. When we arrived the restaurant had one customer. There were a lot of flies buzzing around which was quite off putting.... More

Great value carvery meal. Very generous portions, and a good choice of sweets. But do they not open in the evenings?

We looked at the menu board, we saw pasties and sausage rolls in the warmer in the window we went in. Waited, nothing, waited, someone appeared, yes, they did have a table (it's actually huge out the back but only the front was being used) but they were only doing the carvery today. Okay, so we had a budget carvery,... More

After visting on Sunday 01/05/16 just after 12, we arrived for the carvery it was empty. We visit most Sundays whilst visiting my grandfather. However we tried to obtain a table after waiting for 15 mins in the "bar area" only to be told no booking no table. The place was empty and we would be in and out as... More

Visited restaurant again, this time for Sunday Lunch. Most certainly good value for money and excellent service from the time we arrived until the time we left. Choice of either Beef or Pork, both excellently cooked and excellent selection of vegetables. I cannot rate this establishment highly enough, it's a true gem tucked away in a small country village.

If you enjoy quality English Fayre at sensible prices, then this is a place to head for! The roast beef was perfectly cooked and various vegetables dishes were in abundance..the braised cabbage was mouth-watering!! Portions were as big or small as you wanted them to be and the giant Yorkshire puddings in the shape of mushrooms could fill a plate... More
